The Clearing release schedule: When do new episodes come out on Hulu?

There’s a big interest these days in shows based on true crime events. Hulu is delivering another in The Clearing, which just premiered on the service. So when can fans enjoy new episodes of the drama? Find out here!

Based on the novel In the Clearing by J.P. Pomare, The Clearing is created by Elise McCredie and Matt Cameron. It tells the story of Freya, who grew up in an Australian cult, subjected to years of abuse and brainwashing. She finally broke free and raised her son, Billy.

When a local girl is kidnapped, Freya is convinced it’s the same cult and soon on a quest to stop its twisted “mother” Adrienne. Along the way, Freya has to face the demons of her past and the pull the cult still has on her.

The series is based on the real-life cults that filled Australia from the 1960s to the 1990s and mixes psychological horror with some character work on how difficult it is to escape this sort of life.

Who stars in The Clearing?

The big star is Teresa Palmer (A Discovery of Witches) as Freya, who she plays in both modern times and flashbacks to her time in the cult. Miranda Otto (The Lord of the Rings) plays Adrienne, the cult’s twisted leader.

The supporting cast is a who’s who of Australian TV actors, including Guy Pearce, Kate Mulvany, Julia Savage, Hazem Shammas, Mark Coles-Smith, and Xavier Samuel.

When do new episodes of The Clearing stream on Hulu?

The first two episodes of the series premieres May 24, 2023. From then on, a new episode will be released every Wednesday.
