On Saturday, June 10, Lifetime viewers were introduced to Kendra and Ben’s love story in its infancy. The two were college students at Hammon trying to find their way through love and loss, discovery who they are, what they want, and how they want to love. Mary J. Blige’s Real Love, while a romance, was also a coming-of-age story that ultimately saw Kendra choosing to pursue her dreams.

When we’re reunited with her in Mary J. Blige’s Strength of a Woman, it’s been more than 15 years since Kendra got her first taste of what it means to live and love. She’s now a successful photographer, fulfilling the dream she’d had her heart set on. However, her marriage is failing and it’s forcing her to truly reconcile the decisions that have led her to where she is in life. She thought she knew what she wanted but maybe she didn’t or maybe that’s changed.

Of course, things are complicated when Ben makes an unexpected return to her life. Their love story may not be over and the possibility of having his love and support has Kendra drawing the strength she needs to take control of her future and decide whether she’s ready to accept what they could be if he’s offering her a second chance at love.
