It’s been over a year since The Wonder Years aired its season 1 finale. However, the coming-of-age TV series finally returns for season 2 on Wednesday, June 14, on ABC. How many episodes will be in The Wonder Years season 2? Keep reading to find out!

Inspired by the 1988 series of the same name, The Wonder Year follows the life of 12-year-old Dean Williams (Elisha “EJ” Williams) and his family in the 1960s. Dean is from a black, middle-class family residing in Montgomery, Alabama. Members of Dean’s family include his father, Bill Williams (Dule Hill); his mother, Lillian Williams (Saycon Sengbloh); and his sister, Kim Williams (Laura Kariuki).

Dean has two friends he can rely on — Cory Long (Amari O’Neil) and Brad Hitman (Julian Lerner). Plus, Keisa Clemmons (Milan Ray) is Dean’s friend and secret crush. With his friends by his side, Dean experiences love and hardships but eventually realizes the importance of family. Similar to the original series, with Daniel Stern narrating as the adult version of Kevin Arnold, Don Cheadle narrates the series as the adult version of Dean.

The Wonder Years is created by Saladin K. Patterson. The first season won a Peabody Award in Entertainment. Fred Savage, who starred as Kevin Arnold in the 1980s series, served as an executive producer and director on season 1. However, Savage was fired from the show in May 2022 for “allegations of inappropriate conduct” that involved  “verbal outbursts and inappropriate behavior.”

Unlike season 1, which premiered in the Fall, season 2 has a summer release date. How many episodes will air in the sophomore season?

How many episodes are in The Wonder Years season 2 on ABC?

Season 2 premieres on June 14 at 9 p.m. on ABC with a special one-hour premiere event. Two episodes will air on June 14. The episode titles are “One Small Step” and “Forbidden Fruit.”

In total, there are 10 confirmed episodes for season 2 of The Wonder Years. New episodes will air weekly on Wednesday nights at 9 p.m. Stream season 2 episodes the next day on Hulu.
