Cast exits aren’t new for soap opera fans. Those who have been tuning in for years have grown used to characters and actors coming and going from their favorite programs in wild or standard ways whether that’s in-show deaths, face changes, or contract disputes, it’s a part of the ride. Sometimes, however, there’s news that blindsides viewers. That’s what happened for General Hospital fans on Twitter thanks to tweets from Nancy Lee Grahn’s account.

The actress originated the role of Alexis Davis in 1996, and has been a mainstay on the soap ever since. While other actresses have stepped into the character’s shoes, none have done so for longer than Grahn. She’s spent nearly 30 years playing Alexis, so when word began to circulate that she was leaving the soap, fans began to wonder what was going on. Here’s what we know!

Is Nancy Lee Grahn leaving?

As of writing, Grahn isn’t leaving General Hospital. The claim that she was making a departure did come from her own Twitter account, but she didn’t tweet what Soaps in Depth reports was “no longer a part of GH. I’m sorry to all the fans this may upset, but I feel like it’s time to move on to bigger and better things,” someone else did.

What happened to Nancy Lee Grahn’s Twitter account?

Unfortunately, the actress’ account has been hacked. Bizarre tweets were being posted around 5 a.m., claiming that the FBI was after her and that she was scared. At 7 a.m., the tweet about exiting the soap was posted. There was also a tweet with audio of Grahn telling the hacker, who says they go by Scar, that they were going to track their phone.

It’s been 8 hours since the last tweet on Grahn’s account, so there’s speculation that it’s been locked. However, it’s unknown if she now has control over it again, but, we can say that she’s not leaving General Hospital.
