Is Daisy Johnson in Secret Invasion? (Will Chloe Bennet star?)

Secret Invasion just premiered on Disney+, bringing back Nick Fury to face a secret Skrull invasion. But fans are wondering if this can mean the return of Agents of SHIELD’s top operative, Daisy Johnson. Is Chloe Bennet in the show?

Secret Invasion builds on past MCU storylines as Nick Fury (Samuel L. Jackson) has been in space working with the SABER organization. Fury is called to Earth by old ally Talos (Ben Mendelsohn), who needs his help. It seems that a renegade faction of the shape-shifting Skrulls have grown tired of Fury’s promise to find them a new homeworld and wants to simply conquer Earth.

Fury has to stop this invasion, which is naturally difficult given he’s facing an enemy who can be literally anyone anywhere. Thus he could use a few allies, which may include the Agents of SHIELD.

The status of Agents of SHIELD in the MCU has always been tricky. While the ABC series could name-drop characters and some key moments, it often seemed it existed outside the main goings-on. It wasn’t helped by issues such as how the series seemed to build toward an Inhumans movie, only for that to be changed into its own TV show. It also seems to have been ignored since going off the air with barely any mention of it in the MCU.

Yet having Daisy Johnson on could be a key move for Secret Invasion. Quake (to use her codename) is a top operative whose seismic powers can be a great benefit. She can also be a “wild card” pick by Fury that the Skrulls won’t anticipate, making her a good pick. So is Chloe Bennet in the show?

What is Quake’s status in Secret Invasion?

So far, there is no indication that Chloe Bennet is going to be on Secret Invasion. There’s been no leaks or hints of Daisy’s involvement in the series, and Bennet seems busy with other projects. In fact, the actress told Screen Rant that she’d love to come back to the MCU, but no one has contacted her.

"“Of course. Of course, I would be open to it. Listen, there’s a lot of stuff around that. I so deeply love S.H.I.E.L.D.’s fans because it’s this tenacity that got the show on air to begin with. I have not once been approached or asked, or involved in anything after I wrapped S.H.I.E.L.D. And I am not involved in anything that is coming out. I’ve not been asked, but I would be more than excited to put on the suit again. And, of course, of course, Daisy is a big part of who I am. So I would love to, but I have not been communicated [with] about it.”"

Now, it’s possible Bennet is just playing a classic game of MCU actors keeping their involvement in a project quiet. Remember, Tom Holland and Tobey Maguire spent a year denying they’d be in Spider-Man: No Way Home. It would be a cool thing for Daisy to pop in with no warning and make this a true surprise for the audience as well as the characters.

So while right now it looks like Daisy won’t be in Secret Invasion, fans may also be as suspicious as Fury that Marvel is playing a game to keep her involvement quiet.
