What is V.C. Andrews’ Dawn Part 1 about on Lifetime?

Fans of V.C. Andrews’ work are gearing up for yet another film series based on the author’s books to make its way to Lifetime. Last summer, Flowers in the Attic: The Origin, took the channel by storm as viewers tuned into the prequel series explaining how Olivia Winfield became the infamous grandmother who locked her grandchildren in the attic.

Now, we’ll be introduced to the Dawn Culter saga which has been divided into a four movie event that’ll run through July. Part 1: Dawn, follows the eponymous character who is a member of the Longchamp family. She’s from a humble background with a father who’s devoted to his children and a brother she’s close to. The teen girl is surrounded by love, but her world is soon upended when a shocking truth about her true family origins comes to light.

With no regard to the life she had before, she’s thrust into a brand new family who have secrets of their own and they’re primed to change her life forever. First, she’s continuously referred to as Eugenia and then she must contend with Lillian, her grandmother who demands obedience and keeps her grandchild under her thumb by inflicting cruel punishments whenever her directives are not followed.

Our lead knows that though the Culters are rich, they are not impervious to curses or ill-fates, and there’s something about this mysterious family that’s liable to swallow her up if she can’t find a way to hold onto her own perception of herself and what she wants for her life. V.C. Andrews’ Dawn Part 1 Lifetime release date

Part 1 of the four film event premieres Saturday, July 8 at 8 p.m. ET on Lifetime. If you miss the premiere, Dawn Part 1 will re-air at 10:03 p.m. on the movie’s debut night as well as at 12:01 a.m. and 2:04 a.m. on Sunday, July 9. Next day streaming will be available on mylifetime.com.
