The Bold and the Beautiful recap (July 13): Brooke catches Hope and Thomas
By Sabrina Reed
So much for Hope’s request that her hook up with Thomas be kept on the down low. Though Thomas didn’t spill the beans on today’s episode of The Bold and the Beautiful, the two were caught by none other than Hope’s mother, Brooke Logan. They were on day 4 of being caught up with one another in Thomas’ bed.
Hope kept saying she should go, but she wasn’t actually making any moves to leave the love nest they’ve created for themselves in his room. In between kisses, the pair discussed how this had taken them both by surprise and that they couldn’t have imagined what being together would have been like, but it made Hope want to stay in the bubble of their connection forever.
She reiterated to Thomas that she wants him. It’s not lost on her that she’s still married–she keeps saying technically but no papers have been filed so she’s not even in the process of getting a divorce–but she’d been fighting against her desire for him for so long that it’s been a relief to give in and explore what they have.
Hope also acknowledged that she’d went off on her mom a few months back and can recognize now that she did so because she was in deep denial over her feelings for Thomas. She didn’t want to hear what Brooke had to say so she shamed her for her behavior because she’s been adamant she doesn’t want to be like her mom.
What happened today on The Bold and the Beautiful?
Thomas soothed Hope by saying that Brooke has probably long forgotten that exchange, and Hope said she hoped so. But she’s not of the mind that she’s caught feelings for a “bad boy,” and teased Thomas over it calling him a former bad boy who is thoughtful and kind. Thomas responded that she brings it out in him and the two continued to enjoy their time together, what they didn’t know is that they would soon be interrupted.
Brooke catches Hope and Thomas in bed
Back at Forrester Creations, Ridge was admiring his latest design which was inspired by his reunion with Brooke in Rome. The dress looked similar to the one she wore during the Hope for the Future preview except in grey, the sketch also bore a striking resemblance to Brooke which Carter ribbed Ridge about.
Brooke thought the dress was beautiful and was happy that they’d found their way back to each other. She just wished that the trip had been memorable in only positive ways for Hope, too. Brooke shared her concern over Hope’s marriage and her thoughts on where her daughter’s focus needs to be which is on Liam and their family.
Carter left the main office for a meeting after expressing that he’s happy his best friend is happy, and Bridge continued to talk about Thomas and Hope. Brooke put the blame for the kiss squarely on Hope’s shoulders and, to Ridge’s delight, agreed with him about Thomas keeping things professional with Hope up until that moment.
She said she’d been meaning to speak to Thomas bout how well he’s been doing and decided on the spot that she’d pop by his place since it was on the way to where she was going anyway. When she arrived at his house, she knocked but no one answered. Her final knock jarred the door which swung open.
Brooke called out for Thomas letting him know that the door had been open, but he didn’t hear her because he was busy upstairs with Hope. She quickly learned that when she noticed her daughter’s keys, bag, and wedding rings sitting on the table.
Shocked and thinking the worst, Brooke hurried up the stairs and burst into Thomas’ room calling Hope’s name. There she found the pair entangled. They broke apart, alarmed by Brooke’s sudden entrance and the episode ended before anyone in the room could respond.
Earlier, Brooke had mentioned that Hope kissing Thomas was unlike her so seeing the two intimate is sure to throw her for a loop. It’ll also draw concern from Ridge who had been saying that Brooke wasn’t the only thing bringing him peace, so was Thomas and the good path that he’s on. He’s proud of his son and he told Carter, when the two met up in the main office again, that Thomas is in a better place, his obsession is behind him.
Carter questioned whether the kiss Hope and he shared really was just a bump in the road, but Ridge was sure that it wouldn’t happen again and that everything would be okay. Clearly, that’s not going to be the case.
Steffy and Finn recount Monaco
One kiss that hasn’t gotten out yet is Liam’s with Steffy. Or should I say two kisses? In his grief, he swept Steffy into a lip lock in Rome and then did so again in LA when he wanted to move on with his life. On both occasions, Steffy didn’t mince words. She’s happily married to Finn and isn’t going to ruin her marriage.
Well, today, she didn’t bring up the kiss but her mind was preoccupied with the thought of losing Finn. She told him it was the darkest time in her life and she never wants to go through that again. He reassured her that she wouldn’t and that they have one another to lean on. Steffy talked about how she had to picture raising their kids without him, and she didn’t want to do that.
The two also discussed Liam and Hope’s marriage. Steffy was sympathetic to Liam’s position since he was hurt by what he saw, but Finn said that he needs to get over it and put his family first. We’ll have to see if Finn still feels that way if he ever learns that Steffy shared kisses with her ex-husband. Until next time, Bold fans. Stay beautiful!
