The Barbie movie is almost here. The big question for many is whether this is a musical that has original songs or not.

Not everyone likes musicals. Then there are others who love them. Knowing if a movie is going to be a musical or not is essential for a lot of fans. So, what’s the deal with the upcoming Barbie movie?

We know it’s a comedy. Will it be a musical, though? Will it feature any original songs that we’ll come to sing all the time on road trips? Will there be songs that can become part of our speech patterns as we say “as Ken would say” or “as Barbie would say?”

The Barbie movie is a musical

The movie follows “Stereotypical Barbie” played by Margot Robbie, who seems happy in her own world. However, there’s an existential crisis as she questions everyone if they’ve thought about dying. Our titular character heads out on an adventure to find her Weird counterpart and Ken happens to hide in the back of her convertible to go along for the ride.

There’s some great news for the musical fans out there. This is a partial musical with some original songs. In fact, you can check out one of the songs right now as Warner Bros. Discovery released “Just Ken” on YouTube. Yes, that is Ryan Gosling really singing.

Yes, there are some songs you’ll know, as well. Aqua’s top hit is going to be featured in the movie in a way, along with a few other songs from artists we know.

You can listen to the full soundtrack for the movie on Spotify now so you can get ready for everything. This playlist does feature other songs that aren’t on the soundtrack, but you can see clearly which ones are. Are you ready to go party?
