There are a lot of questions about TV shows right now due to the strike action. Here’s what we know about House of the Dragon Season 2 so far.

We have a lot of questions about our favorite TV shows right now. House of the Dragon is one of them, especially considering the way the first season came to an end. The civil war between the Greens and the Blacks has officially begun, and it’s only going to get worse for both sides.

It’s worth giving Fire & Blood by George R.R. Marin a read. This isn’t going to spoil too much, as it is all about the written accounts of maesters rather than the actual story. The TV series is telling us the truth of what actually happened and how the maesters got it right or wrong. The book will fill some of the time during the wait, but that doesn’t stop you from wanting to know more.

When will House of the Dragon Season 2 come to HBO and Max?

We don’t have a release date just yet. This is a series that takes a long time to film and get through post-production, though. Something Casey Bloys warned us was that we likely wouldn’t see it at all in 2023. We’ll need to wait until around the spring or summer of 2024.

Will the strike action affect House of the Dragon?

Despite the WGA and SAG-AFTRA strikes, production of the season is not going to stop. The scripts were all written, so filming could start despite the WGA strike. While the actors are part of SAG, the series is being run by the UK Equity union. Equity members would like to stand with SAG in solidarity, but the actors’ jobs will not be protected if they do walk off set.

There is a planned walk out here and there for Equity members. It’s unclear if any House of the Dragon cast members will be involved. If they are, one or two days won’t affect too much for the production.

How many episodes are in House of the Dragon Season 2?

While the first season had 10 episodes, the second season is going to be a little shorter. It will have eight episodes. The plan is to shorten the season and ensure a third season happens. There is no official Season 3 just yet.

Will there be any more time jumps in House of the Dragon?

Something that fans struggled with in the first season was all the time jumps. It cut out a lot of the story and a lot of character development. Well, the good news is we won’t have to deal with any more of them. The major time jumps are done. This is where the bulk of the story really gets into things.

It doesn’t sound like there are flashbacks, either. This does mean that Milly Alcock won’t return as a young Rhaenerya. Alcock confirmed that, with Emma D’Arcy continuing her role as the princess-turned-queen.

Who else will return to House of the Dragon?

It looks like all the other main actors will be back in the second season including Matt Smith, Eve Best, Olivia Cooke, Rhys Ifans, and Ewan Mitchell. There were a couple of deaths during the first season, and those characters won’t return. That includes Paddy Considine, who played King Viserys Targaryen in the first season.
