We were very hopeful that Young Sheldon season 7 would be making its way to our screens in fall 2023. Despite the writers strike that began on May 2, 2023, it was possible that at least a good amount of the scripts for the next chapter in the story were written and work could begin. Now, it seems like we’re not even getting the new season this year.

The writers strike already has been posing as a challenge for studios, and the actors strike by the Screen Actors Guild – American Federation of Television and Radio Artists (SAG-AFTRA) has caused the network to revise its fall TV schedule. As many television fans know, the autumn season in television is the time when our favorite shows return and new ones emerge. This time around, it’s going to look different.

The 2023 CBS fall schedule features a number of reality shows the company is relying on, reruns of some fan-favorites, including reruns of Young Sheldon, and the debut of Yellowstone on CBS for the first time. The show originally airs on the Paramount Network.

Getting the new season this year seems to be pretty unlikely. So when could we expect to see the Cooper gang again? Read on below for our predictions

When is Young Sheldon season 7 coming out? (Release date predictions)

At the time of this writing on Aug. 28, 2023, we don’t have a Young Sheldon season 7 release date. So right now, it’s really not known when we might see it. Though we haven’t gotten final word yet from CBS that it’s not coming in 2023, it seems very unlikely. With the amount of time it takes to write scripts and film the season, we’re probably going to have to wait until 2024 at this point to see what happens next in the life of the Coopers.

Right now it’s really hard to say when a new season of a show will come back because it’s not known when both of the strikes will end. Hopefully the unions and studios can come to an agreement soon, making it a little clearer when we might see some of our favorite shows back. The writers union and AMPTP, who represents the studios, have met up for a couple of meetings but no agreement has bene made. Fingers crossed for a midseason schedule debut, which would be at some point in January-March 2024.
