Does Barbie have an after-credits scene?

Nowadays, no one leaves their seat when a movie is over. This is because a movie is never over until the final name in the credits rolls and the lights in the theater turn on. Why? Where have you been? More often than not, a scene (or two) are hiding in the credits. But as popular as staying put after a movie wraps is, not every single film includes a bonus scene. Does Barbie have an after-credits scene or can you head home when the movie ends?

I credit Marvel for starting the after-credits scene trend (though they were not the first to do so), where do you first remember catching one? After spotting a post-credit scene in a MCU movie, I began to notice the majority of the films add one as a surprise or teaser for fans. Now, not every post-credit scene is worth staying for. A lot have been included just for laughs and add no value to the story.

It’s good to know what you are in for before going to the theater. You don’t want to leave and then learn you missed an important scene. At the same time, maybe you do need to rush out, especially if the scene is nothing major, because you have somewhere to be or are with an impatient kiddo. Go prepared! Here’s what we know about Barbie‘s after-credits scene.

Does Barbie have an after-credits scene?

No! Not a one. But you may want to stay for the first set of credits, anyway! There are sometimes two credit scenes, one that plays at the end of the first set of credits and another at the very end of the film.

My guest and I stayed in our seats when the credits began to roll, hoping for a bonus scene. There are no scenes after either set of credits, but we don’t regret waiting. The first set of credits features images of the actual Mattel dolls with fun facts, so that was very entertaining to see! I recommend staying for these, but when the black and white credits roll, feel free to leave.

Barbie is in theaters this Friday, July 21.
