911 Season 7 is not coming in 2023
911 Season 7 will be on a new network, but not in 2023. The show is taking a lengthy hiatus, and here’s what we know about it so far.
When 911 was renewed for its seventh season, it came with some surprising news. FOX wasn’t the one to renew it. The network chose to cancel the series due to the costs of producing it, but before that news was announced, a deal was done behind the scenes. ABC stepped in to save the show, so the renewal came with the news of the change of network.
This was all done just before the writers strike started. ABC knew that the strike was likely going on for a long time, so surprised everyone with news that there wouldn’t be any scripted shows on the fall schedule. CBS and NBC wanted a normal fall, but that hasn’t happened. Not only have the writers gone on strike, but now the actors are on strike too.
When will 911 Season 7 come to ABC?
How long will we need to wait until the new episodes arrive, then? That’s something we just can’t answer right now. All we know at the moment is that 911 Season 7 is definitely not coming in 2023 at all. We have to wait until January 2024 at the earliest.
From there, it will depend on when the strikes come to an end. As long as writers and actors stand with each other in solidarity, there is a good chance that the strike could come to an end quickly with a fair deal. Enough of Hollywood needs to be disrupted to get the studios to come to the bargaining table, something they didn’t do when it was just the writers.
If the strike ends by the fall, we could see production start up again by the end of the year. That would allow for some January premiere dates. We’ll be sure to keep an eye on things.
