All American Season 6 is not coming in 2023

Just as we suspected, The CW has had to change its fall schedule plans. All American Season 6 is now pushed to the midseason lineup.

When it was just the writers on strike, there was a chance that All American Season 6 could still premiere in fall 2023. There may have been some scripts written that could have been filmed. After all, the series did land an early renewal compared to other CW shows.

Then the actors went on strike. It was clear that fall TV could not be as normal at all. Broadcast networks had to rejig the fall schedules if they planned to bring scripted shows back, and that included The CW.

All American Season 6 will premiere in 2024

As of right now, all we know is that All American Season 6 will not arrive in 2023. The original plan was for it to come back in the fall on Monday nights, with everything else being pushed to the midseason. It would have been the only CW shows from the 2022–2023 season to get a fall premiere date.

However, plans changed. The show will arrive in January 2024 at the earliest this. This isn’t guaranteed, though.

It’s all going to depend on the strike action. The longer the writers and actors stay on strike, the longer this hiatus is going to be. If the networks want to get things back in order, they’ll need to put some pressure on the studios to start negotiating fairly. Once the writers rooms are back in, we could see filming start up within a month (assuming the actors don’t continue striking).

The CW is still filling the schedule with scripted content, but not American content. It’s acquiring content from Canada, the UK, and more to fill in the void.
