Updated: Sept, 7, 2023 – The CW, as most have known it, will look jarringly different for Fall TV. It’s not just that the network has pulled the plug on many beloved series between 2022 and this year even though that’s a big part of what’s caused this shift. It’s also that there are no only U.S. scripted original scheduled to premiere a new season in the fall of 2023.

All American had been on the schedule but the Hollywood strikes made an October premiere unfeasible which has pushed the sports drama into 2024 along with its spin-off All American: Homecoming, Walker, and Superman & Lois–the only OG CW originals left on the roster. 61st Street, which was supposed to air after All American on Mondays at 9 p.m. ET, has also been pushed to next year.

Fboy Island, the network’s big swing in the unscripted lane, will air its third season Mondays. Its spin-off Fgirl Island waiting in the wings for a 2024 release in the midseason.

Tuesdays on The CW, traditionally known as the Superhero block, is no longer the home of DC series…or at least it won’t be in the fall. Time will tell if DCTV on The CW is no more at the network. But at least come autumn, Inside the NFL and the import The Swarm will be taking over that primetime block.

Sullivan’s Crossing, led by CW vets Scott Patterson (Gilmore Girls), Chad Michael Murray (One Tree Hill), and Morgan Kohan (Batwoman) is the kind of series that fans of Virgin River will likely enjoy as its based on the novel series written by Robyn Carr. The program has been paired with The Spencer Sisters on Wednesdays.

In October, the network’s comedy block will move from Mondays to Thursdays to make room for FBoy Island‘s land. The reality dating series had been scheduled for Thursdays, but its move is likely due to ABC’s back-to-back Bachelor franchise releases.

Fridays and Saturdays will continue to be filled with unscripted content like the network’s magic shows, funniest animals program, cooking competition series, and now college sports thanks to the CW becoming the broadcast home for ACC college football as well as men’s and women’s basketball. The Chosen will keep running in its 8 p.m. ET slot through Christmas Eve.
