It’s almost time to start singing again. Disney+’s quirky High School Musical: The Musical: The Series is back its fourth and final season! So when does it hit, and what will happen on it? Find out!

When Disney Channel premiered High School Musical in 2006, they had no idea this movie would turn into a full-fledged phenomenon. It launched the careers of Zac Efron, Vanessa Hudgens, and Ashley Tisdale, spawning two sequels, the last of which was theatrical. It also inspired tours and countless copycats.

Premiering in 2019, High School Musical: The Musical: The Series is a quirky “mockumentary” about the show. It’s set at a fictionalized version of East High School in Salt Lake City, Utah, where the show was set. The school has gotten attention as the site of the film, and a new teacher stages a musical version of the movie with the various high schoolers learning to get along for it.

The following seasons shifted things to productions of Disney classics Beauty and the Beast and Frozen while a documentary crew follows them and their misadventures.

Season 4 looks to take the “meta” theme to its heights. The gang is back for their senior year as they prepare for a stage version of High School Musical 3. They then hear Disney is putting together a fourth movie and are soon fighting to be extras in it and perhaps get their own spotlight as well. At the same time, the students face their coming graduation and the changes it brings to their lives.
