When Disney Channel premiered High School Musical in 2006, they had no idea this movie would turn into a full-fledged phenomenon. It launched the careers of Zac Efron, Vanessa Hudgens, and Ashley Tisdale, spawning two sequels, the last of which was theatrical. It also inspired tours and countless copycats.

Premiering in 2019, High School Musical: The Musical: The Series is a quirky “mockumentary” about the show. It’s set at a fictionalized version of East High School in Salt Lake City, Utah, where the show was set. With her real-life musical career taking off, Olivia Rodrigo has left the series, although there is a possibility she will make a cameo in the finale. Kate Reindeers and Liamani Segura have been promoted to regulars after recurring in Season 3. Notably, High School Musical movie stars Corbin Bleu, Lucas Grabeel, Kaycee Stroh, Monique Coleman, Alyson Reed, and Bart Johnson will appear as themselves, with fans hopeful some bigger names will make surprise cameos.
