The time for the comedy-drama FX’s Reservation Dogs to return to streaming service Hulu is coming up very soon! The series, created by filmmaker Sterlin Harjo and one of Marvel Films’ mainstay directors Taika Waititi, has captivated audiences since its first season and we’ve been hungry to see more from the show’s lively group of Indigenous teenagers: Elora Danan Postoak, Bear Smallhill, “Cheese” Williams, and “Willie Jack” Sampsonin.

The Oklahoma-set show is produced by FXP, Piki Films, and Film Rites. It uses an entirely Indigenous creative team (behind-the-scenes and in front of the camera) and the first scripted series to shoot entirely in the state of Oklahoma.

The show has received widespread acclaim after being named one of the best series of 2021 and 2022 by many critics. It also received a Peabody Award, and nominations for the Critics’ Choice Television Awards and Golden Globes, and two Independent Spirit Awards. So if you’re looking for more information regarding the upcoming season, look no further! Will there be a Reservation Dogs season 3?

Yes, it’s been confirmed that FX renewed the drama for a third season. The sad news is, this will also be the show’s final season.

What is Reservation Dogs season 3 about? (Reservation Dogs season 3 synopsis)

"This season, the Rez Dogs find themselves stranded in Cali and have to figure out their way back home. After making it back to Okern, Elora considers the idea of college, Bear comes across a conspiracy theorist named Maximus (Graham Greene), Willie Jack grows more invested in healing her community and Cheese, well, he still lives with his grandmother who’s not his grandmother. Meanwhile, the aunties, uncles and elders explore their pasts and try to heal old wounds."

According to FX, this final season is “full of road trips, bathroom wisdom, unexpected fathers, boarding schools, Bigfoot, rumors, revenge and healing.”

Is there a Reservation Dogs season 3 release date yet?

Yes, Hulu’s Reservation Dogs premieres its third season on Wed, Aug. 2. This means there are only a few days before the release of the series so if you aren’t caught up yet, it’s the perfect time to log back into your Hulu account and start binge-watching the two previous seasons!

Just like its second season, there will be 10 episodes in the third season of Reservation Dogs. Th series has come a long way from its 8-episode premiere season so expect a lot more engaging storylines for its final run on the streaming service. The first episode is entitled ”BUSSIN’ and is written by Harjo & Dallas Goldtooth.
