FBI: Most Wanted won’t be returning in Fall 2023 due to the writers and actors strikes but that doesn’t mean we don’t have knowledge on who fans can’t expect to see in season 5. It’s common knowledge that this series has a high actor turnover rate and that the fandom often has to brace for an exit for a beloved actor/character whose story they’ve been enjoying see unfold onscreen.

Between a lead change to key members of the Fugitive Task Force departing the series, the show has had to contend with a lot of changes in its narrative, new dynamics to navigate, and arcs that deal with loss. So who won’t be returning for the fifth season and why? Here’s what we know.

FBI: Most Wanted season 5 cast: Who won’t be in the season?

Will Jess LaCroix be in FBI: Most Wanted season 5?

If you’re a fan of the series who has just started their journey and are looking for spoilers for the upcoming season, we’re sorry to tell you that we have a major one to share. Julian McMahon’s character Jess LaCroix, who was the leader of the Fugitive Task Force, wasn’t just written off. He was killed. In season 3 of the series, he was fatally shot in the neck. So, he definitely won’t be in the fifth season.

Will Kenny Crosby be in FBI: Most Wanted season 5?

Kellan Lutz’ return to the role of Crosby is unlikely. Like McMahon, he departed the series in season 3. His character wasn’t killed off, however, he did suffer a gunshot wound that left his life hanging in the balance. Once Crosby was stable, it was announced that he’d be leaving the team to recover in Oklahoma not just from his injury but also the trauma from a previous case. Lutz’ exit was due to his decision to be closer to his extended family after losing his grandfathers, his unborn child, and nearly his wife during the COVID pandemic. He hasn’t been on the show since his departure.

Will Clinton Skye be in FBI: Most Wanted season 5?

Clinton, played by Nathaniel Arcand, was featured in seasons 1-2. He was the sniper for the task force and LaCroix’s brother-in-law. Clinton’s exit was due to his decision to work on a case about public corruption involving the recruitment of agents like himself who have JDs. He hasn’t been back since his departure. With Jess having passed away and Clinton’s niece, Talia, attending school close to her parents, it’s not likely Arcand will be back on the show.

Will Ivan Ortiz be in FBI: Most Wanted season 5?

Miguel Gomez began his run on the series in the second season. His character, Ortiz, was a son of Los Angeles who’d joined the FBI after working as a Gang officer in the LAPD. Before he became a part of the Fugitive Task Force he’d worked in counter-terrorism in D.C. Life on the East Coast and then working with the team, largely kept him away from his hometown, however, he chose to take time off to care for his father who lived back in LA.

By season 4, this departure became permanent as he chose to relocate to LA in order to continue working as an FBI agent whilst caring for his dad. Based on how his character was written out, Gomez would only make a return if Ortiz no longer needed to be in LA for his father. While that could be written into the series, the likelihood is low.

Will Kristin Gaines be in FBI: Most Wanted season 5?

This will come as a surprise but there’s no guarantee that Alexa Davalos will be reprising her role in a fifth season. News broke on Aug. 8, 2023 that she’s leaving the series and that the decision had been made months ago. Davalos was informed about her exit by a producer on set after she shot her last scene. There’s been no word yet on how Gaines will be written off the series or if Davalos will get to do a wrap-up arc. With writers rooms closed because of the WGA strike, we could be waiting until 2024 for how Davalos’ departure will be handled.
