Angus Cloud Euphoria dedication: Remembering the actor

HBO is making sure Euphoria star Angus Cloud is never forgotten. A tribute to the actor now appears in the form of an in memoriam dedication card at the start of the first and second seasons streaming on Max. If you’re a new Euphoria watcher and don’t know much about Cloud, we’re here to change that!

When you go to Max to play the first or second season of Euphoria, you’ll find that season 1 episode 1 and season 2 episode 2 both open with a photo of Cloud and the words “In memory of Angus Cloud 1998-2023.” This is a simple, but meaningful way to show love and appreciation to someone who is no longer with us.

Euphoria features a brilliant and talented cast. At the center of it all, is Zendaya’s character, Rue, a teen struggling with overcoming a drug addiction. Audiences follow Rue’s story, but we also get into the lives of Rue’s friends and people around her. But even though Rue is the protagonist of HBO’s hit series, the heart of Euphoria has always been Fezco, portrayed by Angus Cloud.

Remembering Angus Cloud

Angus Cloud sadly passed away on Monday, July 31, 2023. Cloud was only 25-years-old at the time of his passing. According to reports, including Cloud’s mother, the actor died of an accidental overdose.

Fezco is a drug dealer with a heart of gold. Fezco aka Fez is as loyal as they come, always ready to be there for his friends and family. Audiences fell in love with the unique character instantly, becoming a fan favorite.

Part of what makes Fez such a great character, is Cloud’s pure and genuine performance, considering this is his first time acting. Euphoria casting director Jennifer Venditti spotted Cloud at a restaurant, where Cloud worked. Even though Cloud revealed he had no acting experience, Venditti encouraged him to audition for the role of Fez. Cloud’s performance and fan reception exceeded expectations and his role was expanded by the second season.

Angus Cloud TV and movie roles

Cloud will always be remembered as Fez, but he did also get to star in other projects, including North Hollywood, The Line, a cameo in The Perfect Woman as himself, and he is seen in three music videos with Noah Cyrus, Juice WRLD, and Becky G and Karol G.

Additionally, there are three unreleased projects that star Cloud: An untitled Universal film, Your Lucky Day, and Freaky Tales.
