Get ready to go back in time to 1970’s New York City as we get the origin story of how Winston Scott got a hold of the infamous hotel in the John Wick movies. The Continental arrives in September 2023. Is it a show or film?

The new addition to the franchise stars Colin Woodell as Winston Scott, Ayomide Adegun as Charon, Mel Gibson as Cormac, Hubert Point-Du Jour as Miles, Jessica Allain as Lou, Mishel Prada as KD, Nhung Kate as Yen, Ben Robson as Frankie, Peter Greene as Uncle Charlie, and Jeremy Bobb as Mayhew. The project was created, written, and executive produced by Greg Coolidge, Kirk Ward, and Shawn Simmons.

All the productions in the John Wick universe are movies, including the new one in the works starring Ana de Armas. So is the Peacock production a film or show? We’ve got the answer for you below!

Is The Continental on Peacock a series or film?

The Continental on Peacock is a series. The crime drama will have a total of three episodes on the streaming service, starting on Friday, Sept. 22, 2023. Episode 2 will be released on Sept. 29, and the conclusion to the action-packed three-parter begins streaming on Oct. 6. It’s not a very long show, but I have no doubt we’re going to learn and enjoy it very much!

The crime drama explores the younger years of two John Wick characters we know well, Winston and Charon. We’re going to see how the hotel owner comes to take charge of the hotel-for-assassins as he gets pulled into it to “face a past he thought he’s left behind,” per the synopsis. He has to find his way through the hotel’s “mysterious underworld” to eventually make it his “future throne.”

The Continental premieres Friday, Sept. 22, 2023 on Peacock. The next two episodes of the three-part series stream Sept. 29 and Oct. 6.
