The Bold and the Beautiful spoilers: Steffy is leaving (Here’s why and how)

Steffy has been separated from her husband, Finn, for sometime on The Bold and the Beautiful. However, on Thursday, Aug. 31’s episode, she went home to him. As she explained to her father, though the circumstances of Finn’s connection with his dangerous birth mother, Sheila Carter, haven’t changed, she wants to trust that her spouse can keep her and their kids safe.
Finn has given her countless words, speeches, and promises that he’s going to put her first and he’s not going to let Sheila harm them. That means ensuring his birth mother stays away. But, since he hasn’t spoken to Sheila since his stepdaughter, Kelly, nearly drowned on his watch, she’s been under the impression that they’re on good terms.
Not good enough to arrive on his doorstep like an invited guest, but she hasn’t been deterred when it comes to stalking him. Hence why she was peering at the married couple from their sliding glass door on Friday, Sept. 1’s episode, only she got caught by Steffy so things are about to go sideways on the soap pretty fast.
This storyline is also a means to write the actress who plays Steffy Forrester, Jacqueline MacInnes Wood off the soap. Here’s everything we know.
Is Steffy leaving The Bold and the Beautiful?
Yes. Soap She Knows reports that Wood’s last appearance on the soap is Thursday, Sept. 7. According to the spoilers for the week of Sept. 4, this is when Steffy reaches her breaking point due to the events that happen earlier in the week like Sheila’s unwanted presence, her face-off with her nemesis, and her husband trying to intervene.
Will Steffy be recast on The Bold and the Beautiful?
No. This is a temporary exit for Wood as her Sept. 7 exit is due to her scheduled maternity leave. Her return date hasn’t been announced yet but don’t expect the actress to be gone for long. She told Soaps.com, as noted by Soap She Knows, the following:
"People are always surprised by how quickly I’m back to work! But I’m incredibly lucky, and we find ways to make it work. It’s not easy, not by any means. But my husband and I are big believers that you have to make time for everything that’s important in your life. Your kids, your partner, your career, all of the things that make you happy and who you are. It’s about balance."

Yes, she did. The actress posted to Instagram, giving her followers an opportunity to see her son, Valor James Ruspoli. He was born Aug. 27, 2023. You can check out the post, here.
Why is Steffy leaving The Bold and the Beautiful?
The confrontation with Sheila will be too much. She’d only returned to the Cliff House for no more than 30 or so minutes before her nemesis popped up on the premises. This was a fear that Steffy had expressed before and not only was it realized, but it happened after she’d gotten to a place emotionally where she wanted to try working on feeling safe in her own home and trusting Finn.
According to Celebrity Dirty Laundry, Steffy is going to be taking the kids overseas and her husband won’t be along for the trip. This is a choice that’ll be hard on him, but Steffy needs to put space between herself, her kids, and Sheila.
What’s next for Steffy and Finn on The Bold and the Beautiful?
Don’t expect this storyline to get benched on the soap just because Steffy is gone. The outlet’s coverage of the fall preview explains that though Finn will be struggling with his wife’s decision, he’ll be throwing himself into work in order to cope with his loss. It’ll be his adoptive mother, Li, who pushes for him to win his family back. She’s all for him going to Europe to bring them back home, but he’ll need to get rid of the threat of Sheila first.
It’s also possible that any inaction on his part could mean he loses Steffy for good. Finn is very aware her ex-husband, and Kelly’s father, is interested in her and has made that clear. This fall, their feud over Steffy is set to deepen as Liam continues to be protective of her even though she’s no longer in the country. With the soap keeping his feelings burning for his ex, this could set up a potential love triangle once Wood’s resumes filming.
As for Sheila, she’ll be holding onto hope that she’ll get to have a real relationship with Finn now that Steffy’s going to be out of the picture.
