The fall is here, and that means the return of fall TV. That should mean All American Season 6 premieres, right? What’s going on with the series?

September is here. All the kids are back in school, the weather is starting to cool down, and football is back. That means the return of fall TV, right?

This year is going to look very different to normal. The WGA went on strike in May. While some production kept going, a lot of scripted shows couldn’t start up as there were no scripts. Then SAG-AFTRA went on strike in July, and all production shut down.

No, we will not see All American Season 6 in September. That’s normal for a CW show as the fall tends to start in October, but we’re not going to see that either.

When will All American Season 6 premiere on The CW?

When Nexstar took over The CW, All American was the only guaranteed renewal. That news came in early, and there was a chance that the writing and some production got started. The CW even noted at the May Upfronts that All American would be the only show from the most recent season coming back in the fall.

Then the SAG-AFTRA strike hit and The CW had to change everything. All American Season 6 has been pushed to 2024. There isn’t a set date for a return yet. We wouldn’t usually see a set date for a midseason series anyway, but this year is even harder to even predict. Without production getting started, we simply have no idea when the shows could come back.

In even more bad news, the episode count is likely to be dramatically reduced. The strike action needed to come to an end by Labor Day Weekend to stand a chance for a 13-episode season—that’s still shorter than previous seasons of the series, but it’s in line with a lot of CW shows now—but that didn’t happen. We’re potentially looking at eight to 10-episode seasons right now.
