Who’s ready for a night full of music? We sure are! And who better to bring it than the 2023 MTV VMAs. The popular awards show airs tonight, and we definitely can’t wait. What time do you need to tune in?

It all started in 1984 when the very first MTV Video Music Awards show debuted. Some of the highlights from the ’80s event includes Madonna performing “Like a Virgin,” Cyndi Lauper won Best Female video of the year, and David Bowie, the Beatles, and director Richard Lester were all recognized with the Video Vanguard Award. Since then, the VMA has become a coveted award in the industry.

The 2023 MTV VMAs air tonight, Sept. 12, 2023, at 8 p.m. ET. The awards show will be three hours long, which means it will run until 11 p.m. ET on the cable channel. If you can’t watch it on television, don’t you worry. The musical event, hosted by Nicki Minaj, will also be streaming live on Paramount+.

With 15 categories, fans were hard at work having to vote for their favorite artists. And this evening, we find out who gets to take home the iconic Moonman trophy. Some of the artists nominated for the very first time are Kim Petras, Rema, Peso Pluma, and Musa Keys.
