Is Station 19 season 6 the final season?

Nope! Station 19 season 7 is officially happening. ABC renewed the series for season 7 in April 2023. We’ve known for a while that Station 19 season 7 is happening, but unfortunately, we’re not much closer to seeing the new season.

Is Station 19 season 7 coming in 2023?

Station 19 season 7 is not returning in 2023. Sorry to say that, but ABC is not bringing any scripted drama back in the fall. The entire lineup is made up of reality TV and game shows.

What? Why?

ABC planned for the writers’ strike to cause disruptions. The writers needed to be back in their rooms in June for a July production start date. That would be needed for a September premiere date. It’s not happened, and unfortunately, we have more bad news about the Station 19 season 7 to share.

In July 2023, the actors’ union, SAG-AFTRA, went on strike. Now, the WGA and SAG is on strike, and it doesn’t look like the AMPTP is close to offering the writers and actors deals to get them back to work. That’s not good for the Station 19 season 7 release date.

Has the Station 19 season 7 release date been announced?

Unfortunately, ABC has not announced the Station 19 season 7 release date yet. And, we have lots to cover, so let’s get into it.

According to a report from TV Line, FOX entertainment president Michael Thorn recently shared that to get scripted shows back on track before the end of the 2023-2024 TV season (September to May or June), the strikes need to end by Oct. 1, 2023. In other words, if the AMPTP doesn’t offer the writers’ and actors’ unions a good enough deal and get them back to work by Oct. 1, we might not see Station 19 season 7 and other new seasons until the fall of 2024. It should be noted that Station 19 is not on FOX; it’s an ABC series. But, the point remains. We’re right on the line of being able to get the creative teams, cast, and crew back to work before the end of the year.

If the AMPTP negotiates a deal for the unions soon, we could see Station 19 season 7 by the spring of 2024. If not, we’re probably waiting until the fall to see the new season.

For now, let’s just hope the AMPTP makes the deals soon, ends the strikes, and gets the writers, cast, and crews back to work.

Station 19 Season 7 cast

There is only one character we know is definitely not coming back in the new season. Pat Healy will not return as Michael Dixon, who was the confirmed casualty at the firefighter ball.

We are worried about Grey Damon as Jack Gibson. Hopefully, Jack collapsing is just a scare and we’ll see him return. This could be a great way to develop his willingness to ask and accept help.

How did Station 19 season 6? What’s next in Station 19 season 7?

Station 19 Season 6 left us with a life on the line. We’re certainly not happy about that, especially not with the life that is the one on the line. Jack Gibson has come such a long way since the series premiere, and we need to see more of this character growth that’s happening with him.

Of course, there are changes happening within the firehouse. Andy is now the permanent captain of the firehouse, which is something she has dreamed of getting for a long time. How will Theo take to that? What about Sullivan? There is a lot going on and we need episodes right now.

We have no details of storylines just yet. The biggest question is whether Jack will survive. I think he will, but it’s going to be a nail-biting premiere.

There are a lot of personal storylines that are going to come up. While we have Andy now as captain, we’ll need to see how Theo and Sullivan both take to that. Sullivan will probably accept it as he and Andy have come to a great understanding over the last season. Theo will take it hard, believing he did a great job as acting captain before.

This could put more pressure on Theo and Vic’s relationship. That relationship showed signs of struggle while Theo was acting captain. He couldn’t be her boyfriend for just a few minutes. With Vic also helping Beckett as he thought about suicide, Theo could see something else going on there and not accept that Vic can be friends with someone else.

Station 19 is available to stream on Hulu. You can watch all six seasons of the series on Hulu right now. Unfortunately, you can’t watch Station 19 on Netflix. It was not part of the Netflix-ABC to bring shows like Grey’s Anatomy, How to Get Away with Murder, and others to Netflix.
