Prime Video subscribers have been anxiously waiting for the second season of Outer Range to premiere. Unfortunately, the ongoing strikes have not helped the situation. That said, what do we know about Outer Range season 2? Here’s the latest!

In reality, it hasn’t been that long since the first season of the Prime Video drama concluded — but try telling that to any TV fan. Let’s just say, time goes by awfully slow when we wait for a new series, movie, or season. And this is what’s been happening to Outer Range fans.

The first season of the series premiered on April 15, 2022, so only a little over a year. What’s more, the show wasn’t renewed for a second season until October 2022. Still, there are typically about 12 months between seasons, and here we are about 17 months later and we don’t even have a release date. Or do we?

Is Outer Range season 2 happening?

Yes! It is when it’s coming that’s the big question. Again, Prime Video renewed the series shortly after season 1 wrapped, on October 2022. So why have Outer Range season 2 updates gone radio silent?

Outer Range season 2 release date updates

OutKick shares that the neo-Western drama is done filming. In fact, filming finished in July of this year. Now, typically, a new season can drop four to six months after filming wraps, the source shares. However, due to the strikes, that’s not going to happen here.

Even if a deal was reached by the end of this month (September at the time of this writing), season 2 will not be ready by the end of 2023. Our best guess for when Outer Range season 2 will be here, is early 2024.
