The fall 2023 television slate is nearly empty when it comes to scripted shows as the strikes in Hollywood continue. However, there’s a few new series coming our way since they’ve been filmed and ready to go before the writers strike and actors strike began. Get ready for The Irrational on NBC!

The new drama stars Jesse L. Martin as Alec Mercer, Maahra Hill as Marisa, Travina Springer as Kylie, Molly Kunz as Phoebe, and Arash DeMaxi as Rizwan. The show follows Alec Mercer (Martin) who is a very known behavioral scientist in his field. So known in fact that governments, law enforcement, and corporations asks for his help, per the synopsis.

He uses an “unconventional approach” to help solve cases, but his unique understanding of human behavior allows him, and his team, to do so. What kinds of cases and mysteries will we see the group solve and take on? We’re about to find out soon!

That means we’ll need to tune in to the episodes to figure out what these mysteries are. So when does the series premiere and when do you need to tune in? We’ve got the answer for you below!

The Irrational airtime and release schedule on NBC

The Irrational premieres Monday, Sept. 25, 2023 at 10 p.m. ET on NBC. This will be the drama’s regular timeslot on the network each week. So be sure your Monday nights at 10 p.m. ET are free so you’re available to watch! If you miss the debut of the episodes on television, then no worries. Installments will also be available to stream on Peacock the next day on Tuesdays.

NBC has ordered a total of 10 episodes for the freshman season. This is typical episode count for the first season of new projects on the broadcast networks. As many of you know, networks will sometimes skip a week or two between new episodes, so we’re not sure if the release schedule below is 100% accurate yet. But, be sure to bookmark this page as we’ll be updating it with any potential changes:

  • Episode 1 – Sept. 25
  • Episode 2 – Oct. 2
  • Episode 3 – Oct. 9
  • Episode 4 – Oct. 16
  • Episode 5 – Oct. 23
  • Episode 6 – Oct. 30
  • Episode 7 – Nov. 6
  • Episode 8 – Nov. 13
  • Episode 9 – Nov. 20
  • Episode 10 – Nov. 27
