The Simpsons, the long-running Fox Animation, will be coming back to continue their hijinks in Springfield. When will we get new episodes, and what will be the upcoming season 35’s premise?

The Simpsons have been around forever (well, since 1989), and the series has zero intentions of ending anytime soon. The episode count hit 750 in May 2023, following their season 34 conclusion, an awe-inspiring feat in television. However, this is barely a scratch on the surface for the series. With season 35 just on the horizon, The Simpsons will peak at 772 episodes at the season’s finale.

The last time The Simpsons fans saw Homer, he was visited by a Happy Little Elf voiced by guest star Lizzo. It was a perfect end to the season because it only strengthened Homer’s and Marge’s relationship, following a secret that nearly destroyed them. Additionally, fans heard Lizzo’s incredible singing voice for those who haven’t heard it before.

Before the finale in season 34, there was a Covid-19 lockdown-inspired episode and a parody of Stephen King’s It as a Halloween episode. Krusty the Clown plays the villainous clown who preys on children’s fears.

That’s literally the stuff of nightmares.

So, what will Homer and the rest of the Simpson family be up to in season 35?

When will The Simpsons season 35 come out with new episodes?

The Simpsons season 35 is set to premiere on Sunday, Oct. 1, at 8/7 CST on Fox. Two other popular Fox animations, Family Guy and Bob’s Burgers, will also have their premieres that night.

What will season 35 be about?

The first episode of season 35 is titled “Homer’s Crossing.” Fox released the synopsis regarding its storyline:

"“Feeling worthless at work, Homer volunteers to be a school crossing guard. But, when his safety squad receives too much funding, the crossing guards become a force to be feared.”"

Also, in 35, the non-canon Halloween installment, Treehouse of Horror, will return for its 34th year. Kelsey Grammer of Frasier fame will reprise his iconic role as Sideshow Bob in a spoof of the Anthony Hopkins film The Silence of the Lambs.

Fox released season 35’s trailer not too long ago, and in quick succession, it reveals some of the season’s plotlines:

The Simpsons‘ season 35 poster is ‘punched’ with color

Ahead of its October 1st drop, Fox released the official promotional art for season 35. Every year, fans can expect a fun poster to honor the funny family that rightly dominated our small screens for many years.

For this year’s key art, bright, cheerful colors are splashed across, gravitating excitement for new episodes. Along with the punchy colors, the family’s favorite things surround the respective characters. For example, butterflies dance around Maggie, and Homer is mesmerized by donuts.
