Grab your popcorn, choose your seats, and prepare for a round-up of all the hits and misses of Strictly Come Dancing‘s Movie Week extravaganza. The beloved BBC talent series returned for its 21st series just two weeks ago, and this week it turned up the glitz and glamor to 1000 as it aired its annual Movie Week special.

As a result, we saw Batman and Robin, Bridget Jones, Audrey Hepburn, Romeo and Juliet, and so many more movie stars make their presence felt on the dancefloor in what can only be described as an evening of movie magic.

So, what exactly when down on Strictly Week 3’s Movie Week special? Who was a box office smash, and who struggled to gain some movie momentum? Here are the Strictly spoilers, results, and scores from the Saturday night show.

Strictly spoilers and results: Week 3 Leaderboard

With one couple less competing, tonight’s Strictly was a little shorter than previous episodes, as the remaining 14 couples took to the dancefloor to deliver their best movie-inspired performances.

Nigel Harmon and Katya Jones opened the show with the pow-tastic tribute to the 1966 Batman movie, jiving their way to some brilliant comments. Eddie Kadi and Karen Hauer produced the first Couples Choice of the series (which earned the first 10 of the series from Head Judge Shirley Ballas) to the Men in Black theme, and Bobby Brazier and Dianne Buswell delivered a joyous Samba inspired by Romeo and Juliet.

However, it was Angela Scanlon and Carlos Gu, and Ellie Leech and Vito Coppola who gave us the dances of the night with a sensational Charleston and exquisite Viennese Waltz.

Here are the results from the Strictly Week 3 Saturday night show, the scores, and the Leaderboard we were left with at the end of Movie Night:

  • Angela Scanlon and Carlos danced the Charleston – 9, 9, 8, 9 = 35
  • Eddie and Karen danced the Couple’s Choice – 8, 8, 10, 8 = 34
  • Ellie and Vito danced the Viennese Waltz – 8, 9, 8, 8 = 33
  • Bobby and Dianne danced the Samba – 8, 8, 8, 8 = 32
  • Amanda and Giovanni danced the Rumba – 6, 8, 8, 8 = 30
  • Annabel and Johannes danced the Waltz – 8, 8, 7, 7 = 30
  • Krishnan and Lauren danced the Charleston – 8, 8, 7, 7 = 30
  • Layton and Nikita danced the Viennese Waltz – 7, 7, 7, 7 = 28
  • Angela Rippon and Kai danced the Quickstep – 6, 7, 6, 7 = 26
  • Adam and Luba danced the Jive – 5, 7, 7, 7 = 26
  • Nigel and Katya danced the Jive – 6, 6, 6, 7 = 25
  • Zara and Graziano danced the Paso Doble – 6, 6, 6, 7 = 25
  • Nikita and Gorka danced the Jive – 4, 6, 5, 6 = 21
  • Jody and Jowita danced the American Smooth – 4, 5, 5, 6 = 20

Who is in danger on Strictly Week 3?

It might sound a bit obvious to say that the people at the bottom of the Leaderboard are in the most jeopardy, but after last week’s first elimination saw the bottom two on the Leaderboard end up in the Dance-Off, it just reinforces that it’s a risky position to be in. However, and I hate to say this, the majority of the Leaderboard is a risky position to be in this week as there are three ties.

As we’ve seen in previous years, the public vote will be the tie-breaker in those situations, and it always favors one of the couples over the other(s). It’s also worth bearing in mind that ties can make it easier for the couples on the lower end of the Leaderboard to escape elimination as there are less points between them and the couples near the top.

Right now, any couple from the middle of the Leaderboard downwards are in jeopardy, but we’re going to predict that the bottom four are in the most danger. That said, Nigel and Katya are popular with the public, so it’s unlikely that their Batman-themed dance will have landed them in trouble this early on, so the most likely Dance-Off right now is looking like one of Nikita and Gorka, Jody and Jowita, and Zara and Graziano.

Of course, the public vote could change all that.

Update, Sunday October 8: Our prediction was correct, and unfortunately both Nikita and Gorka, and Zara and Graziano found themselves in the Dance-Off. The judges saved Zara, eliminating Nikita from the competition.

Nikita and Gorka had quite the Strictly journey in just three weeks, and the former improved a great deal over the course of that journey. Relive their Clueless-inspired Jive below:
