Where can you watch all episodes of Monk in 2023?

If you watched 2009 television series Monk while it was running on USA Network, then you know just how good this show was, and still is! The mystery comedy-drama had it all. And I for one definitely miss it. If you’re in the same boat, you may be wondering where you can rewatch the series. And that’s what I’m here for. To help you out!

You can watch all the episodes of Monk on Peacock and Prime Video in 2023. That comes out to 125 episodes! All eight seasons of the show are streaming on both platforms. And isn’t that just the best? As a viewer, I feel like it can be really annoying when some of the seasons of a series are available on one streamer, and one or a few others are on another one. With so many streaming services out there, it can be really hard to keep up. The world was first introduced to Monk in July 2002, and the mystery comedy-drama came to a conclusion in December 2009. The series finale, “Mr. Monk and the End – Part II,” brought in a whooping 9.4 million viewers. This earned the installment the title of most-watched scripted drama episode ever for cable television. It held this position from 2009 to 2012. And I can tell you that I’m definitely not surprised!

The show is centered around Adrian Monk, a brilliant detective who has obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD). When his wife Trudy is killed by a car bomb, presumably due to her job as a journalist, the titular character has a nervous breakdown. This causes him to close himself off to the world, and he loses his job at the police department. Eventually, he is able to leave his house again and takes up a position as private detective and consultant for the police department. And though his worsened OCD sometimes gets in the way, Monk is determined to figure out who killed his wife.

What we know about the new movie on Peacock

Christmas is coming early this year with the arrival of the show’s follow-up film! Mr. Monk’s Last Case: A Monk Movie will begin streaming on Friday, Dec. 8, 2023 on Peacock. The streamer costs $5.99/month with ads or $11.99/month without ads. And that’s perfect because while we wait for the movie’s arrival, we can stream all eight seasons all on the same platform!

The production sees the return of Andy Breckman, who created, wrote, and executive produced the series. He’s back in those same roles for the film as well. So I know, this follow-up is definitely in good hands. Also returning is many of the main cast members including Tony Shalhoub as Monk himself; Melora Hardin as Trudy Monk; Ted Levine as Captain Leland Stottlemeyer; Jason Gray-Stanford as Lieutenant Randy Disher ; Traylor Howard as Natalie Teeger; and Héctor Elizondo as Dr. Neven Bell.

New cast members joining the Monk family are Caitlin McGee as Molly and James Purefoy as Rick Eden. So what is it all about? Peacock is staying pretty tight-lipped at the moment. All we know is that Monk comes back to solve one last and “very personal case” that involves his “beloved stepdaughter” Molly, per the synopsis. She gets caught up in trouble as the journalist is getting ready and making plans for her wedding. I can’t wait to see what’s in store for this mystery-solving genius!

All eight seasons of Monk are currently streaming on Peacock and Prime Video. The follow-up film begins streaming Friday, Dec. 8, 2023 on Peacock.
