The competition is quickly heating up on BBC’s Strictly Come Dancing. But if you’re a longtime viewer of the show, you probably already knew that it would. With Week 4 now upon us, we are two eliminations into the show, with a third one looming this weekend, so how exactly would everyone perform under that added pressure?

With the glitz and glamor of last week’s movies special now in the rear-view mirror, the remaining 13 couples took to the dancefloor to offer up the best routines they could muster. With that, Layton Williams and Nikita Kuzmin got the party going with an energetic Cha Cha Cha, Angela Rippon and Kai Widdrington had viewers in awe of their Rumba, and Angela Scanlon and Carlos Gu brought back an old favorite in a Viennese Waltz to Callum Scott and Leona Lewis’ “You Are The Reason”.

Yes, many emotions were felt on the Saturday night spectacular and it set the stage for a very interesting Leaderboard. Speaking of which, let’s look back on everything that went down.

Strictly spoilers and results: Week 4 Leaderboard

Well what a week that was. It’s impossible to know where to even begin, because we got some cracking performances on Strictly Come Dancing this week, and some unexpected surprises. I guess we should probably begin at the top of the Leaderboard, as Layton Williams and Nikita Kuzmin found themselves back on top after a stunning Cha Cha Cha to Whitney Houston’s “Million Dollar Bill”, which scored the earliest 10 for a Cha Cha Cha in Strictly history.

Meanwhile, Angela Rippon brought the house down with an incredibly flexible Rumba with Kai that was giving shades of Jessica Lange in American Horror Story, while Nigel Harman and Katya Jones bounced back after two decent weeks to find themselves second on the Leaderboard. And Adam Thomas rose to the long-awaited occasion with an amazing Waltz which placed him and dance partner Luba Mushtuk third on the Leaderboard.

Here are the results from the Strictly Week 4 Saturday night show, the scores, and the Leaderboard we were left with:

  • Layton and Nikita danced the Cha Cha Cha – 9, 10, 9, 9 = 37
  • Nigel and Katya danced the Salsa – 8, 9, 8, 8 = 33
  • Adam and Luba danced the Waltz – 8,8, 8, 8 = 32
  • Amanda and Giovanni danced the Foxtrot – 7, 8, 8, 8 = 31
  • Angela R and Kai danced the Rumba – 8, 7, 8, 8 = 31
  • Bobby and Dianne danced the Tango – 7, 7, 8, 8 = 30
  • Annabel and Johannes danced the Jive – 7, 7, 7, 8 = 29
  • Ellie and Vito danced the Samba – 7, 7, 7, 7 = 28
  • Krishnan and Lauren danced the Paso Doble – 6, 7, 7, 8 = 28
  • Zara and Graziano danced the Viennese Waltz – 7, 7, 7, 7 = 28
  • Angela S and Carlos danced the Viennese Waltz – 7, 7, 7, 7 = 28
  • Eddie and Karen danced the American Smooth – 4, 7, 6, 7 = 24
  • Jody and Jowita danced the Salsa – 3, 5, 5, 6 = 19

Who is in danger on Strictly Week 4?

This is the hardest week to call on Strictly Come Dancing 2023 yet. While Layton and Nikita, Nigel and Katya, and Adam and Luba are highly likely safe as houses due to their placement as the top 3 on the Leaderboard, they aren’t quite as safe as they would be on another week; the reason being that four-way tie towards the bottom of the Leaderboard (and the two-way tie near the top). That means there are significantly less points between those at the top and those at the bottom, so the public vote has the ability to turn everything on its head.

The people at the bottom end of the Leaderboard are still in danger, but the couple at the very bottom, Jody and Jowita, have proven to be popular with the public as they escaped the Dance-Off from that exact position last week. That makes the couple above them, Eddie and Karen, perhaps the most likely couple to land in the Dance-Off, followed by one of the couples in the four-way tie above them.

The most likely Dance-Off right now would involve Eddie and Karen, Zara and Graziano, and maybe Krishnan and Lauren, but with the ties and the public vote carrying even more weight this week, that could all change.

Update, Sunday October 15: The Sunday Night results show revealed that Jody and Jowita had landed in the bottom two against Eddie and Karen. The judges unanimously voted to save Eddie and Karen, eliminating Jody and Jowita from the competition.

The pair have certainly been an important and memorable part of the Strictly legacy and we’ll never forget their special routine from Week 3. Revisit the beautiful American Smooth here:
