It’s nearly time for Blackpool Week on Strictly Come Dancing. That means we are officially at the halfway point of the competition, and after last week’s Halloween Special, it’s clear that the remaining nine couples are determined to bring their A-Game in the hopes of dancing at the Blackpool Tower Ballroom in just two weeks.

So how did they fare so close to the dancing extravaganza? Week 7 was full of memorable routines, as Layton and Nikita tackled the non-stop Jive, Angela Rippon and Kai danced a beautiful Waltz, and Ellie and Vito showed us the beauty of ballroom with a glitzy American Smooth. We also had two Couples Choices.

But what went down on Week 7? Did Ellie and Vito hold onto the top spot? Could Nigel and Katya find their way back towards the top? And how did Angela Scanlon and Carlos Gu fare with the Samba?

Strictly spoilers and results: Week 7 Leaderboard

Strictly Come Dancing is getting shorter and shorter each week, and I can’t say I’m a fan of that! This week absolutely flew by as well, but the good news is that we had some great routines to make that short journey very sweet.

Layton and Nikita opened the show with a Jive packed full of kicks and flicks that saw them once again land second on the Leaderboard, while Nigel and Katya delivered a powerful Tango that saw them score highly for the first time in some weeks. Ellie and Vito held onto their top spot from last week, scoring an amazing 39 for their glamorous American Smooth that was the absolute personification of ballroom.

However, it was Annabel and Johannes that captured viewers’ hearts this week with their beautiful Couple’s Choice routine that was a tribute to Annabel’s late husband Mel Coleman. It was truly beautiful and they deserved the high score they received.

Here are the results from the Strictly Week 7 Saturday night show, the scores, and the Leaderboard we were left with:

  • Ellie and Vito danced the American Smooth – 9, 10, 10, 10 = 39
  • Layton and Nikita danced the Jive – 8, 10, 10, 8 = 36
  • Annabel and Johannes danced their Couple’s Choice – 8, 9, 9, 9 = 35
  • Nigel and Katya danced the Tango – 7, 9, 9, 8 = 33
  • Bobby and Dianne danced the Argentine Tango – 6, 8, 8, 8 = 30
  • Krishnan and Lauren danced their Couple’s Choice – 6, 8, 8, 7 = 29
  • Angela R and Kai danced the Waltz – 7, 8, 6, 7 = 28
  • Angela S and Carlos danced the Samba – 6, 7, 7, 7 = 27
  • Adam and Luba danced the Rumba – 6, 7, 7, 7 = 27

Who is in danger on Strictly Week 7?

Well that’s a very interesting Leaderboard this week isn’t it? That means we could be in for a shock Dance-Off. Naturally, the people at the bottom of the Leaderboard are in most jeopardy of ending up in the Dance-Off right now, but with the right amount of votes from the public, they could avoid landing there.

Adam Thomas and Luba Mushtuk are joint-bottom with Angela Scanlon and Carlos Gu. Unfortunately, with Adam and Luba landing the Dance-Off last week, that makes them even more vulnerable this week. That being said, don’t be surprised if the public saves him from the precarious position.

Angela Scanlon has proven popular with the voting audience, as has Angela Rippon who is just one point above the joint-bottom couples. Krishnan, who is just one point above her, has also proven to be remarkably popular, but he’s in a precarious position in that he’s not in immediate peril, but he is down low enough to be forgotten about if the public vote goes elsewhere.

Right now, we’re predicting that Adam and Luba will find themselves in the Dance-Off with one of the five couples above them. Who ever that is though, is going to be interesting.

We could be in for a shock Dance-Off.

Update, Sunday November 5: As revealed on the Sunday Night results show, Adam and Luba did indeed find themselves in the Dance-Off against Angela Rippon and Kai. On paper, that is a shock given how strong a dancer Angela is, but it ultimately isn’t that shocking given that both she and Adam were in the bottom three last night.

The judges unanimously voted to save Angela and Kai for stronger technique, resulting in Adam and Luba’s elimination from the competition.

Adam and Luba were one of this year’s most enjoyable couples, and Adam certainly became one of the show’s most improved dancers. Relive their emotional Rumba below:
