It’s A Wonderful Knife age rating: is the new horror movie appropriate for kids?
It’s A Wonderful Knife looks to be a wild mashup of a slasher film and a holiday classic. But just what is the rating for this dark, new horror comedy?
There’s been a rise lately in fun slasher mashups from Happy Death Day to Totally Killer. It’s A Wonderful Knife looks to keep it up by mixing Scream with the holiday classic It’s A Wonderful Life. It’s written by Michael Kennedy, whose “Halloween meets Freaky Friday” film Freaky was a delight, so he should be able to handle it.
The movie centers around Winnie (Jane Widdop), a young woman whose best friend was killed by the Angel, a ruthless masked murderer. Winnie managed to kill the Angel, unmasking him as the supposedly kindly town mayor.
A year later, Winnie has been hailed as a hero but is still haunted by her friend’s death and everyone else moving on, so she thinks it was better if she was never born. She gets her wish to find herself in a world where, without her around, the Angel continues on his bloody murder streak. Now, Winnie has to stop him in hopes it gets her life back while seeing the effects her absence has on family and friends.
The movie looks to be a sharp black comedy film but is it age-appropriate for kids?
