While the television season has been mostly dry due to the now concluded Hollywood strikes, there is good news for those who want something new to watch! CBS will soon begin airing NCIS: Sydney, a new spin-off of the original franchise which will focus on agents in Sydney, Australia.

The series will be led by Olivia Swann, who appeared in Legends of Tomorrow and Todd LaSance who is known for Sparticus: War of the Damned. Swann plays an NCIS agent who goes up against her AFP counterpart, Sergeant Jim “JD” Dempsey (LaSance). Here’s the full cast list:

  • Olivia Swann as NCIS Special Agent Michelle Mackey
  • Todd Lasance as AFP Counterpart Sergeant Jim “JD” Dempsey
  • William McInnes as AFP Forensic Pathologist Dr. Roy Penrose
  • Tuuli Narkle as AFP Liasion Officer Constable Evie Cooper
  • Mavournee Hazel as AFP Forensic Scientist Bluebird “Blue” Gleeson
  • Sean Sager as NCIS Special Agent DeShawn Jackson

Due to premiere on CBS on November 14, the synopsis for NCIS: Sydney hints that the new series will follow NCIS agents from the U.S. as they work with the Australian Federal Police on cases that involve crimes within the navy.

"“With rising international tensions in the Indo-Pacific, a brilliant and eclectic team of U.S. NCIS agents and the Australian Federal Police (AFP) are grafted into a multinational taskforce to keep naval crimes in check in the most contested patch of ocean on the planet. Our team of Americans and Aussies must quickly learn to trust each other, overcoming and harnessing their differences to solve each case.”"

Morgan O’Neill is both the creator and executive producer of the series. Endemol Shine Australia for CBS Studios and Paramount Australia produced the show as well.

In the first episode, “Gone Fission,” the teams will need to work together to solve the death of an American seaman, which took place on Sydney Harbor. So far, it looks like we’re in for similar cases in the style of the other NCIS shows, but we’re excited to see something new!

After each episode of the eight-episode season airs, it will be available to stream for Paramount+ Showtime subscribers the same day while Paramount+ Essential subscribers can begin watching the next day.
