Blue Beetle gets disappointing Max release update

Nov. 13 update: The long wait will soon be over, folks! Blue Beetle will make its streaming debut on Max this coming Friday, Nov. 17.

The wait to stream Blue Beetle from home continues as the DC’s latest gets a disappointing streaming release update from Max.

DC fans are ready to re-watch Ángel Manuel Soto’s Blue Beetle, which stars Xolo Maridueña, Adriana Barraza, Damián Alcázar, among others. At the box office, the movie accumulated $128 million, according to Box Office Mojo, a number that’s notably lower than what DC Studios is used to seeing, especially when you factor is production’s $104 million budget. Many partially blame to strikes, but there’s also the fact that Blue Beetle is not as popular of a character as the others. Whatever the reason, the movie is very much worth the watch.

Blue Beetle is action-packed, fun, and with love and family at the center of it all. If you missed it in theaters, streaming the movie from home is your chance to watch (or re-watch). Unfortunately, the Blue Beetle will not be streaming on Max in the month of October 2023. When will fans be able to stream the movie from home?

The latest Blue Beetle release update

The streaming platform Max released its list of what’s coming (and leaving) the service in October 2023, and Blue Beetle is nowhere to be found. Sorry, folks! We looked over the list and even checked it twice, but the movie is not going to be part of October’s releases.

Here’s what we do know: The movie will be coming to Max, as it is the streaming service owned by Warner Bros., and Max is where WB movies end up streaming. As for the release date, our money is on November, likely closer to Thanksgiving.

Right now, the movie is available to buy or rent digitally via Amazon Prime, Vudu, and other VOD services. So, if you’d like to watch it, it won’t be for free. Blue Beetle became available Digitally on Sept. 26, and movies typically sit on VOD four to six weeks before going to their streaming home. That said, mid-November seems like a good bet. Of course, as soon as we learn an official release date, we’ll update this post!
