On Friday, Nov. 10’s episode of The Young and the Restless, Phyllis Summers’ (Michelle Stafford) had her hopes for a dinner date with Danny Romalotti (Michael Damian) dashed. More dramatically, across town in Genoa City Memorial Hospital, Chance Chancellor (Conner Floyd) survived another violent attack. He woke up when Summer Newman Abbott (Allison Lanier) was by his side.

Chance was shot in the chest while on duty but thankfully Elena Dawson (Brytni Sarpy) confirmed that the bullet passed through without hitting any vital organs. So, he was able to be moved out of the emergency room. Nina Webster (Tricia Cast), Christine Blair (Lauralee Bell), Sharon Rosales (Sharon Case), and Summer visited Chance before he was transferred. It was surprising to see Chance tell his mom that the incident made him wonder if he is too old to be in the line of danger.

It was also surprising when Sharon saw Summer break down in the hallway. But that plot point affirmed the feelings Lanier’s character has for Chance. Viewers later saw Summer tell Phyllis that she is more than fond of Chance. That dovetailed with Phyllis’ earlier questioning of Danny’s enduring connection with Christine. A third sequence had Daniel Romalotti (Michael Graziadei) reassure Lily Winters (Christel Khalil) that she should not be concerned about Heather Stevens’ (Vail Bloom) return to Genoa City, Wisconsin. Lily responded by sharing romantic time with Daniel in her penthouse.

More Newman family drama on The Young and the Restless

While there are many important events developing, what could be more meaningful than Nikki’s life being endangered by Claire on Monday, Nov. 13? Erin’s character proved too good to be true, with preview scenes showing Claire injecting a needle into Nikki’s neck as this week’s episodes play out. Unless that proves to be a dream sequence, the trip to see Casey Reed (Roberta Leighton, who last appeared on Young and the Restless in 1998), proves very dramatic. That looming scenario makes Victor’s revealed game, Nate and Victoria’s differences, and Nick’s job dilemma pale in stark comparison.

The fears for an attack on Jabot are real as Jack and Diane consider on Tuesday, Nov. 14. Diane has become someone he fully trusts and has not sought to takedown the family business as many feared. Considering Devon Hamilton Winters’ (Bryton James) recent overture, Nate has to agree that Mamie’s plan for family unity may be best.

Viewers are wondering why Victoria and Nick would allow themselves to continue to be tested by their father on Wednesday, Nov. 15. Kyle’s head has been in the clouds but it becomes possible that the fog is starting to lift. He still has time to avoid wronging the Abbotts by not helping Tucker seize Jabot.

It is hard to measure the depth of Tucker’s duplicity on Thursday, Nov. 16. He is bent on revenge, with hubris causing St. John’s character to proceed with reckless abandon. But Jill is a force of nature and will bring a different response level to this soapy game. While that is happening, Nikki will not be expecting Claire’s attack on Friday, Nov. 17. Daniel wants to avoid conflict with Heather, while Lily intends to advance her revived relationship with him past the dating stage. And Chance’s latest scare implies that a career shift is ahead.
