While some animated shows seem off-the-wall, Bob’s Burgers takes it to a new level.

The series does have some outlandish storylines and plots you couldn’t pull out of your own imagination. Regardless, there is nothing that holds a candle to Little King Trashmouth.

If you haven’t watched the show, you might not recognize that name. If you do, then you’ll know he’s Linda’s favorite outdoor pet. I mean I don’t know how much you could call a raccoon she loves a pet but I don’t know how else to describe it.

Regardless, we’ll be getting into the nitty-gritty details from the episode, “The (Raccoon) King and I,” so this is your spoiler warning!

Here’s what happened in “The (Raccoon) King and I” on Bob’s Burgers.

The episode begins with the restaurant being covered by a stage during the town’s block party and no one is happy until Bob hopes they end up getting some business. Linda is grabbing some buns for Little King Trashmouth who is injured and she tries to help him by calling animal control. She finds out from Teddy that animal control is known for killing animals.

Linda tries to call them back so they won’t come but it’s too late. She starts getting upset but Teddy suggests they catch him before animal control shows up. At the restaurant, Bob ends up serving the Soulbreezer’s manager while the three try to catch Little King Trashmouth yet fail as he runs off.

The animal control worker shows up and they’re trying to keep her away but she sees Little King Trashmouth limping behind them. The three decide to split up and try to find Little King Trashmouth before the animal control worker does. The stage manager explains why doing one thing over and over again can ruin their dream which makes Bob think of his own life.

Tina sees him before the animal control worker gets there and yells for Linda and Teddy. Linda decides to jump into the alley, grabs him, and puts him in a box before the animal control worker can. The worker leaves and Linda is able to reunite Little King Trashmouth with his husband, Gary. The episode ends with Bob realizing he’s different from the band and dancing before everyone comes back to share how their days were.

”The (Raccoon) King and I is a slighter busier episode than necessary.

When it comes to Bob’s Burgers, there are certain storylines that can carry an episode. In the case of “The (Raccoon) King and I,” that is not the case. While the episode wasn’t bad, it just wasn’t anything amazing. Looking at the series as a whole, this can happen sometimes but given the lack of holiday episodes, it makes even more sense.

On the whole, it felt like none of the plotlines got as much time as they deserved. I wish the episode had focused more on the Little King Trashmouth plot than it did. I think the two B plots could have been cut out entirely and it still would have been good. Ultimately though, it was fun to see Little King Trashmouth make a reappearance.

It feels like a rarity to see a filler episode so early into a season. Given that we’re not getting a Thanksgiving episode though, it makes sense. We’ll see what happens as the season continues so fingers crossed this doesn’t become a trend.

Bob’s Burgers airs on Sundays on Fox at 9/8c.
