The story of a French emperor: Here’s where Napoleon will stream after theaters

Imagine making such an impact as a military commander in the 1800s, that your wars and campaigns are being studied at military schools worldwide in present day. That’s the case for the real French emperor, Napoleon. And so, it’s definitely not a surprise that a new  epic drama film about the historical figure has been made! With the movie Napoleon now in theater as of Nov. 22, 2023, where will the movie stream after its run on the big screens?

Napoleon will be streaming on Apple TV+ after its run in theaters. That’s because the production is an Apple Original Film, with the company having produced the movie. While most Apple Originals are available to watch immediately online on the streaming service, there are some films that the company chooses to play in cinemas for a little bit first before coming to streaming. An example of that is Will Smith’s Emancipation.

Apple TV+ hasn’t announced a streaming release date yet though. So we’ll have to wait and see when it will come. I honestly think this is a fair and good format for the platform to follow. What is the epic historical drama about?

This movie truly has it all! Of course it’s the story of the titular character, with a focus on his love life, military career, and rise to power. The tale showcases the “addictive, volatile relationship” with his wife Josephine, the “visionary military and political tactics” he used, and how he became known as French emperor Napoleon I. Get ready for action-packed battles the historical figure is known for, that will be portrayed as well!

Napoleon is directed by Ridley Scott and stars Joaquin Phoenix as Napoleon Bonaparte; Vanessa Kirby as Empress Joséphine; Tahar Rahim as Paul Barras; Mark Bonnar as Jean-Andoche Junot; Youssef Kerkour as Marshal Davout,; and Rupert Everett as Arthur Wellesley, Duke of Wellington.
