It’s hard to believe that there are just three weeks left of Strictly Come Dancing 2023. I know I don’t want to believe it, that’s for sure! The program is one of the most beloved in British TV history and it goes without saying that the first half of the year is often spent looking forward to it. We all did that this year and here we are with the Final in sight.

After Angela Rippon and Kai’s emotional departure last week, the remaining six couples (yes, just six!) have now taken to the dancefloor once again. This is the shortest show of the series so far, with just six routines standing between viewers and the Quarter-Finals Musicals Week special.

So how did our remaining couples fare this week, and what actually went down?

Strictly spoilers and results: Week 10 Leaderboard

What a spectacular evening of dance Strictly Come Dancing had in store for us this week! I will admit that I have struggled with the post-Blackpool Saturday night shows in the past as they often feel like the show loses a little sparkle (probably from the short amount of couples taking part), but boy did everyone make the short runtime sweet tonight.

Ellie Leach and Vito Coppola tackled the goosebump-inducing Argentine Tango, delivering another memorable iteration of the dance this week, and one that will surely go down in Strictly history. And then there’s Layton and Nikita, who delivered a beautiful Big Bad-esque Foxtrot, adding yet another memorable routine to their collection of dances thus far. Annabel and Johannes delivered a powerful Paso Doble, while Angela Scanlon and Carlos brought the party with the Cha Cha Cha. Bobby and Dianne delivered a beautiful Couple’s Choice, and Nigel and Katya channelled Celine Dion for a powerful Rumba.

Here are the results from the Strictly Week 10 Saturday night show, the scores, and the Leaderboard we were left with:

  • Ellie and Vito danced the Argentine Tango – 9, 10, 10, 9 = 38
  • Bobby and Dianne danced their Couple’s Choice – 8, 9, 10, 10 = 37
  • Annabel and Johannes danced the Paso Doble – 8, 9, 9, 10 = 36
  • Layton and Nikita danced the American Smooth – 8, 9, 8, 9 = 34
  • Nigel and Katya danced the Rumba – 8, 8, 8, 9 = 33
  • Angela S and Carlos danced the Cha Cha Cha – 7, 7, 8, 9 = 31

Who is in danger on Strictly Week 10?

Well that’s a pretty small Leaderboard isn’t it? That’s going to make things a lot more tight, because there are only six points between the couple at the bottom and the couple at the top, meaning that the public vote carries more weight.

Historically, this is where the strongest dancer tends to fall into the Dance-Off, as their scores have usually protected them from danger to this point. Remember, it happened to Alexandra Burke, Ashley Roberts, and Karim Zeroual, even after they delivered strong dances! With that in mind, Layton and Nikita could be vulnerable tonight, especially since they are much lower down the Leaderboard than they usually are. At the very least, their public vote will be tested.

The couples in most jeopardy right now are Angela Scanlon and Carlos Gu, and Nigel Harman and Katya Jones, as they are both in the bottom two positions on the Leaderboard. However, both have proven to be extremely popular with the public, meaning that the public vote could favor one over the other. If this is the case, one of them ending up in the Dance-off is quite likely.

Right now, we’re predicting that it will be Layton and Nikita taking on Angela and Carlos in the Dance-Off. But when the public vote is in play, anything could happen.

Update, Sunday November 26: Unfortunately, Angela Scanlon and Carlos did indeed find themselves in the Dance-Off with Layton and Nikita. Craig, Motsi, and Anton saved Layton and Nikita, while Shirley said she would have saved Angela and Carlos. Nevertheless, the latter couple were eliminated from the competition.

Angela and Carlos have been one of the most wonderful couples on Strictly this season, and we’ll miss watching them light up the Dancefloor. They gave it their all in that Dance-Off performance, just like they have all series. We’ll miss watching them do that, especially after their jaw-dropping Argentine Tango last week.
