Season 14 of Bob’s Burgers has truly been a spectacle thus far. The series has branched out so far with the beginning part of the season.

If you didn’t know, the show will only be airing 18 episodes versus its normal 22 due to the strikes. Regardless, at least we know that we’ll be getting a Christmas episode which is always something to look forward to.

Either way, the show has felt incredibly fresh with its concepts and storylines so it’s awesome to be talking about another episode. That’s not to say every episode has been a favorite because that’s nearly impossible but it’s always fun to talk about Bob’s Burgers.

If you haven’t watched “Fraud of the Dead: Zombie-docu-pocalypse,” then there will be spoilers for the episode from this point on.

The episode starts with a disclaimer that we’re about to see footage from a documentary crew following a 9-year-old archer. Tina is the one who is narrating the documentary and it’s Tina following her around to ask questions and find out more. It’s going alright until Tina explains that Louise isn’t shooting anything with her bow. It all goes dark as we see Teddy as a zombie who attacks Mort and then more zombies show up.

Louise starts to feel nervous as Tina suggests that she fight the zombies and the family decides to bar the door and windows so the zombies can’t get in. Of course, the Pesto twins and Regular-Sized Rudy show up and they come to hide with the Belchers. It all goes haywire when Andy hides his zombie bite as the other zombies are trying to break in the front door.

They try to fight back and Louise throws mustard at them without using her bow. Bob and Linda instruct them to go up the fire escape while they hold off the zombies and wait for them. They’re all able to get up aside from Regular-Sized Rudy and Tina tells him to shoot them but Louise explains she’s not strong enough to use her bow and arrow.

Rudy ends up getting pulled in and bitten by Teddy. This results in Louise admitting she’s not very good at archery and once they get inside the house, Louise starts singing. The zombies eventually try to get in and are successful as the kids try to hide in Louise’s room which ends up making Louise use her bow and arrow. We find out Louise uses mustard-dipped arrows to take down the zombies as she uses her feet but she kills her parents.

Louise decides to try to draw them out but before she can, they’re attacked and we see the family watching it together. The documentary continues with the Belcher siblings going back out to fight zombies before it flashes back to Bob and Linda’s commentary.

Bob’s Burgers killed it with Fraud of the Dead: Zombie-docu-pocalypse.

Season 14 of Bob’s Burgers has been good but not great. That was until I sat down to watch “Fraud of the Dead: Zombie-docu-pocalypse.” This episode was dynamic from start to finish as it felt fresh and fun. From the format to the storyline to the random song added in, this episode was truly the best. In addition, Louise was at the center but it also still felt like a family story.

Honestly, I think this episode was just incredible. I don’t remember the last time I was this blown away by an episode of Bob’s Burgers. Hopefully, we’ll see the show take more risks as it did in “Fraud of the Dead: Zombie-docu-pocalypse.” If the rest of season 14 is half as good as this episode was, we’re all in for a real treat.

Bob’s Burgers airs on Sundays on Fox at 9/8c.
