DWTS winners list: Every Dancing with the Stars season winner (including season 32)
By Sandy C.
Even though we don’t know the official premiere date for Dancing with the Stars season 32, we know it’s only a few weeks away! This makes it the perfect time to look back at all the DWTS winner list. Do you know every DWTS season winner?
DWTS season 32 is set to feature Vanderpump Rules star Ariana Madix, and The Bachelorette Charity Lawson. These are the only names we have so far, but we’ll keep you posted as more are announced. Needless to say, we can’t wait to learn more about the cast — it should be an interesting one!
One big change this season, is that DWTS returns to the ABC network. New episodes will air live on ABC as well as stream on the Disney+ platform. Where will you be watching?
Kelly Monaco is the DWTS season 1 winner
The first season of DWTS premiered in 2015, crowning Kelly Monaco and Alec Mazo the very first winners. Fans may recognize Kelly Monaco from General Hospital, where she portrays Sam McCall.
Drew Lachey is the DWTS season 2 winner
Drew Lachey and Cheryl Burke. After his big win, Drew continued to be part of the show as a co-host while Samantha Harris was on maternity leave. Lachey is also known for hosting the 2006 Miss USA pageant.
Emmitt Smith is the DWTS season 3 winner
Emmitt Smith and Cheryl Burke. Since winning season 3 of DWTS, Smith, the former NFL pro for the Dallas Cowboys, has been inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame.
Apolo Anton Ohno is the DWTS season 4 winner
Apolo Anton Ohno and Julianne Hough. Fans recognize Apolo for taking part in the 2010 Winter Olympics, which he ended up taking a silver and two bronze medals for. However, even more recognizable, is Julianne Hough. During this season, Julianne began to become a household name.
Helio Castroneves is the DWTS season 5 winner
Helio Castroneves and Julianne Hough. That’s right, Julianne scored back-to-back wins for DWTS. But honestly, are we surprised? Julianne and Derek are unstoppable siblings.
Kristi Yamaguchi is the DWTS season 6 winner
Kristi Yamaguchi and Mark Ballas. The American figure skater proved that she had some amazing dance moves and easily took home the season 6 trophy.
Brooke Burke-Charvet is the DWTS season 7 winner
Brooke Burke-Charvet and Derek Hough. Ah, back in the day when Derek was part of the professional dancers crew for DWTS. I’m glad we still get to see him on the show as a judge! Dancing with the Stars simply wouldn’t be the same without him.
Shawn Johnson is the DWTS season 8 winner
Shawn Johnson and Mark Ballas. The former Olympic gold medalist easily took this win with the help of pro Mark Ballas.
Donny Osmond is the DWTS season 9 winner
Donny Osmond and Kym Johnson. I have only ever seen clips from this season, but from what I’ve watched, Donny performed amazingly! Who knew this was a hidden talent?
Nicole Scherzinger is the DWTS season 10 winner
Nicole Scherzinger and Derek Hough. What a dynamic duo! Scherzinger already had some dance experience, but together with Derek, she blossomed into an amazing dancer. You didn’t think we were done celebrating Derek’s wins, did you?
Jennifer Grey is the DWTS season 11 winner
Jennifer Grey and Derek Hough. Yes, another win for Derek Hough! You have to wonder if Derek became a judge to give other dancers a chance to win…
Hines Ward is the DWTS season 12 winner
Hines Ward and Kym Johnson. This road was not easy for Hines Ward. In fact, he suffered a neck injury, but that didn’t stop him from dancing his way to a win.
JR. Martinez is the DWTS season 13 winner
JR. Martinez and Karina Smirnoff. We couldn’t be more proud of Martinez for his win. As some fans may recall, back in 2003, he sustained severe burns while serving as an Army infantryman in Iraq. This win was very much deserved!
Donald Driver is the DWTS season 14 winner
Donald Driver and Peta Murgatroyd. Donald may have retired as a professional player for the Green Bay Packers, and I’d say he went out with a bang by starring (and winning) on DWTS that same year.
Melissa Rycroft is the DWTS season 15 winner
Melissa Rycroft and Tony Dovolani. This was a special season that saw the return of some of the best in the series history. Rycroft won third place in season 6, and returned to win the all-star season.
Kellie Pickler is the DWTS season 16 winner
Kellie Pickler and Derek Hough. This was a close race that saw Kellie Pickler beat Zendaya. Do you think Zendaya should return and take home the win? We do! Hey, never say never, this wouldn’t be the first time a past celebrity has returned for another round.
Amber Riley is the DWTS season 17 winner
Amber Riley and Derek Hough took the shiny trophy in season 17. Look at Derek win back-to-back, it’s no wonder he’s now a judge. Fans remember Riley from Glee, and by winning she proves that she doesn’t only have a lovely voice, but she’s got dance moves, too!
Meryl Davis is the DWTS season 18 winner
Olympic gold medalist Meryl Davis and dancing pro Maksim Chmerkovskiy won season 18, though it wasn’t an easy race!
Alfonso Ribeiro is the DWTS season 19 winner
Alfonso Ribeiro and Witney Carson. That’s right, before taking on co-host duties, Ribeiro was a contestant on DWTS — and won! No wonder he knows a thing or two when it comes to dance moves.
Rumer Willis is the DWTS season 20 winner
It wasn’t until I started to research the winners that I learned Rumer Willis was part of DWTS. But she didn’t just participate, she won the season alongside Val Chmerkovskiy.
Bindi Irwin is the DWTS season 21 winner
What? Did you think we were done with Derek Hough’s wins? Not at all! In season 21, dance pro Hough helped lead Bindi Irwin to victory.
Nyle DiMarco is the DWTS season 22 winner
Nyle DiMarco was the first deaf contestant in DWTS history, so his win alongside dance pro Peta Murgatroyd is even more memorable and special.
Laurie Hernandez is the DWTS season 23 winner
Laurie Hernandez was not done winning competitions after the 2016 Olympics, she returned to the United States to take on Dancing with the Stars season 23. And she won alongside dance pro Val Chmerkovskiy.
Rashad Jennings is the DWTS season 24 winner
Rashad Jennings is not only known as the season 24 winner, but she is also, according to former host Erin Andrews, to hardest working contestant the show has seen. Andrews shares that Rashad spent over 360 hours rehearsing. Rashad and Emma Slater won proudly.
Jordan Fisher is the DWTS season 25 winner
Who here knew Jordan Fisher was in DWTS? Because I sure didn’t! But now that I do, I feel like rewatching his season. The actor showed off some great dance moves all taught by the wonderful Lindsay Arnold.
Adam Rippon is the DWTS season 26 winner
Another athlete enters DWTS for a fantastic win! Olympic figure skater Adam Rippon and dance pro Jenna Johnson won season 26.
Bobby Bones is the DWTS season 27 winner
There can’t be a reality competition show without some controversy, and that’s where season 27 comes in. Bobby Bones and Sharna Burgess did not have the best score, and it stayed this way for many weeks. However, fans came through and voted for the duo week after week, all the way to the finale.
Hannah Brown is the DWTS season 28 winner
This is the season I started watching Dancing with the Stars, and what a great chapter to pick up the reality show with! In this season, Hannah Brown and Alan Bersten win the mirrorball trophy.
Kaitlyn Bristowe is the DWTS season 29 winner
Season 29 of the dancing competition series saw Kaitlyn Bristowe take home the honors alongside pro-dancer Artem Chigvintsev. This was a very, very close one!
Iman Shumpert is the DWTS season 30 winner
Fans still vividly remember this super fun season that saw Iman Shumpert and Daniella Karagach. This season is very significant as it is the first time an NBA player, not only makes it to the finals, but wins the ballroom.
Charli D’Amelio is the DWTS season 31 winner
The last season of DWTS surprised us all. We learned some of our favorite stars are more talented than we initially believed. The winners of season 31 were tiktok star Charli D’Amelio with pro dancer Mark Ballas. Simply put Charli is a natural!
Xochitl Gomez is the DWTS season 32 winner
Another win for the youth! Xochitl wowed from day one and only continued to improve week after week. For her final performance with Val, Xochitl went with “Que Calor” by District 78, embracing her culture and heritage in the dance and costume. The young star was always all smiles and happy to be there, and attitude that could be felt through the screen.
