Just when you thought you had seen it all on 911, the show has only gone and introduced a volcano in downtown Los Angeles. Yes, that sounds oddly similar to the concept of the 1997 movie Volcano starring Tommy Lee Jones and Anne Heche, but it also seemingly describes the upcoming tenth season of the ABC tentpole series.
The marketing campaign for the landmark tenth season has begun, with ABC confirming the show's official return date in the US while also releasing the first look posters and teaser trailers - all of which confirmed that outlandish concept. While that will undoubtedly reel domestic audiences in to see the next adventures for Athena, Buck, Eddie, Maddie, Hen, Chimney, and more, it also has fans all over the world wondering when the show might return in their neck of the woods. And yes, that includes fans in the UK, too.
Unfortunately, there is a reason why it will likely be much later than UK fans are expecting.
911 season 10 UK release date format will likely mirror season 9's delayed release
911 season 10 will likely premiere on Disney Plus in the UK in November 2026. While that specific release window has yet to be officially confirmed by the streaming service, there is a reason why that is the expected timeframe - and, perhaps more importantly, why the Friday after its US premiere date isn't.
For those of you who tuned into the eighth season of 911, you likely remember the absolute fun of being able to get up early on a Friday morning to watch a brand new episode of your favorite off-the-wall procedural series - the very same episode that aired the Thursday night beforehand on US TV screens. This was part of a well-received plan from the platform to stream new episodes of the biggest ABC shows as quickly as possible - preventing spoilers from leaking out for fans before their UK release dates. And, as a result of that, fans in the UK got to watch new episodes of 911, Grey's Anatomy and High Potential the morning after their respective debuts on ABC.

However, the 2025 - 2026 TV season saw something of a change in that approach. While High Potential maintained the Wednesday morning releases (arriving just hours after their Tuesday evening broadcasts in the States) and Greys Anatomy kept its morning-after Friday arrivals too, Disney Plus UK completely changed things up for the 911 shows.
As a result of that, 911 season 9 and the first season of spinoff 911: Nashville unveiled new episodes two Wednesdays later. So not only did it alter the franchise's UK release day, new episodes were now delayed by 13 days altogether. After the midseason breaks, the streamer moved both shows back to the Friday timeslot, but kept it on a 3 - 4 week delay in order to account for any potential US hiatuses. Unfortunately, however, it didn't catch up before the end of the seasons, meaning that UK fans spent the whole show's 2025 - 2026 run out-of-sync with their US counterparts.
Taking all of that into account, it's looking likely that Disney Plus UK will recreate that method this year. And if that is indeed the case, we can probably expect 911 season 10 to premiere on the streamer for fans in the UK and Ireland in early to mid-November, meaning that fans will once again be behind the US broadcast by weeks at a time.
That's certainly disappointing considering that this very same streamer used to drop new episodes the day after their US broadcast. But in today's day and age, getting a US broadcast show relatively soon after its US premiere is still a gift that nobody should be taking for granted!
