There is some new 911 spin-off news. We officially have another spin-off series, and it will air on ABC.
ABC has picked up the spin-off, with eyes on the 2025–2026 TV season. It’s not clear whether it will premiere in the fall or the midseason just yet. That’s likely dependent on the casting, the storyline, and the season order.
Where will the new 911 spin-off be set?
When we heard that there was a new spin-off series in the works, the big question was where it would be set. New York, Seattle, and even Hawaii seemed like potential big choices, but ABC and the gang behind 911 have chosen somewhere different.
911: Nashville is the title. Yes, we’re heading to the home of country music, which is sure to bring some exciting drama to the series. Will we see that one of the firefighters or dispatchers has a secret dream to become a country singer?
Will 911: Nashville be introduced via a backdoor pilot?
A lot of spin-offs are brought in via backdoor pilots. Just look at the way FBI: Most Wanted, NCIS: Los Angeles, and NCIS: New Orleans got their starts. Well, we won’t get to meet the characters of 911: Nashville before the series premieres.
TVLine confirms that there will not be a backdoor pilot in 911.
What about cast members crossing over? Well, the show being on ABC makes it possible for a crossover event with the OG series. What about the Lone Star cast? Well, this will depend on storylines and cast options. With 911: Lone Star now ended, it’s going to be a little harder, but never say never. I’d personally love to see Carlos and TK vacationing in Nashville and for them to need to help out with a problem.
911: Nashville will be part of the 2025–2026 TV season on ABC.
