Annika Noelle wants Hope's desire for Finn "dead and buried" on Bold and the Beautiful

Is The Bold and the Beautiful's new season bringing along with it a new Hope Logan? At least when it comes to her choices? It seems like it! CBS had teased that she'd have her eyes on a new man at the start of the season and that has come to pass. As I speculated, it turned out to be Forrester Creations' COO Carter Walton.

Fans have been wondering if the soap would go there with the co-workers since they started having more scenes together and there was a burgeoning flirty nature to their conversations. That came to a head when Carter, rather inappropriately in my opinion, suggested that Hope might follow in Brooke's footsteps and model lingerie to boost Hope for the Future's sales.

They've been seeing a lot of success with the relaunch of Brooke's Bedroom, and with Hope's line struggling, a little sultriness that still falls within the perimeters of her brand could be just what it needs to get off life support. Hope was flattered by the implication that Carter had been thinking about her in pretty, lacy scraps of fabric. It was a confidence boost, and she's been reveling in his attention.

Carter has become so enamored with Hope that he took a second and third look at the numbers to see where she could eke out some success. It's resulted in projections that are more in her favor much to Hope's delight. The kiss they shared brightened her day further as she's being desired by a man who isn't married. After all, she's coming down from a massive crush on Steffy Forrester's husband, Dr. John Finnegan, which saw her be rejected repeatedly and was embarrassing for all of us to watch.

Annika Noelle is in agreement with much of the Bold fandom on this story choice. In an interview with Soap Opera Digest she shared her belief that Hope's pursuit of Finn was not only ill-advised but also not a great look for the Logan. That's why she hopes it's over and is excited for this new romantic potential with Carter, a man who is unattached.

"I hope that is laid dead and buried. I think it was just very misguided. You know, she was really lost after Thomas left and I think she was just searching for anything to cling on to, to keep her head above water … and unfortunately, it happened to be a drunken kiss with Steffy’s husband! It was very inappropriate and something that was pretty out of character for her. I think she was just idealizing someone because she so desperately wanted to believe that there would be someone else out there for her. She just was completely idealizing the wrong man. I’m hoping that especially after everything she went through with Liam, she remembers the lesson that she learned with is, “I don’t want to have to constantly have that battle with another woman over a man.” She deserves someone who sees her worth and who loves her and is loyal to her. Every woman does. I'm hoping that she might fully get that lesson drilled into her head after her mistake with Finn."

But it's not like Carter doesn't come with his own relationship baggage. While there's been plenty of references to his romance with Quinn Fuller when she was Eric Forrester's wife, and how he left Paris Buckingham (Thomas' fiancée!) at the altar for her, the real obstacle for Hope and Carter may be her family's feelings on it.

Carter is, after all, her aunt Katie Logan's ex. Hope made a point of asking him if they were still seeing each other intimately even though they decided they'd be better off as friends. Carter's answer was no so Hope is full steam ahead on the possibility of what they could be. However, that does not mean that her mother Brooke Logan would be alright with it. The same goes for Carter's best friend, and the man who helped raise Hope, Ridge Forrester. Not to mention her aunt Donna Logan and Katie herself.

Sure, the writers could do the equivalent of a narrative shrug and write everyone okay with this union but where is the drama in that? Hopefully, there's at least some tension!
