If you started tuning into ABC for 911 season 8, episode 15 and you live in or near Boston, you may have been shocked to find out that there's a change to the schedule. ABC isn't airing the episode of the scripted series until later tonight, Thursday, April 17, and it came with no warning!
I'm like you. My ABC network is the Boston stream, so I was shocked to find out that I wasn't going to get to watch 911 right away. Being in Canada, I looked at Global TV, which is where it airs up here, to find that I couldn't even watch it there. Thanks Federal Leadership Debate!
What's on instead of 911 in Boston?
Rather than 911 season 8, episode 15 in Boston, the network is airing a special about the Boston Marathon. This is understandably a huge event this time of year, so it's not surprising that there are specials airing. However, this isn't the best time to put it on.
Let's remember that 911 season 8, episode 15 is a huge event. It's the climax of the two-part Contagion event, which has multiple 118 lives on the line. The biggest life on the line is Chimney, who has been infected by the deadly and accelerated virus. It's a race against time to get him the anti-viral, while also working out a way to get the 118 out of the locked down lab.
The Boston Marathon special could have aired at any other point throughout the weekend. Why not a Friday night when there are few other shows on? What about on Saturday night or even Sunday night? The marathon is on Monday, April 21, so there is time all the way up until then, and ABC Boston has decided to choose this night of all nights surprisingly? That doesn't make sense.
When will 911 season 8, episode 15 air on ABC?
The good news is the episode will still air tonight, but it's not going to be until extremely late. People on Twitter are noting that it will air at 1:30 a.m. on Friday, April 18. That doesn't work for many.
There are some on Twitter/X noting that you can tune into Channel 9 instead of Channel 5 for the episode. This ABC network has the actual episode.
It will air on Hulu the following day, so that will be an option.
For those in Canada, Global TV will air the episode a little after 11:30 p.m. after the news. Matlock will air as usual between 9 p.m. and 11 p.m. ET (yes, it's a two-hour episode), because the federal debate will be over. I'm not sure when Ghosts will air yet as I can't find that on my guide.
911 usually airs Thursdays at 8/7c on ABC. Catch up on Hulu.
