The Blue Bloods finale first looks have us worrying about one character!
Blue Bloods is sharing details on the series finale that may make fans worry about some characters!
It’s the end of an era on December 13 as, after fourteen seasons and 293 episodes, Blue Bloods signs off. While fans (not to mention the actors) would love for it to continue, it seems the show is going to end its long run with a special tribute before the finale.
CBS is releasing news on the final episodes, including a few peeks at it and some may be worried about what it involves! First, here are the official episode synopsis:
Blue Bloods Season 14 Episode 17, “Entitlement”
"Eddie and Badillo try to help a man whose apartment has been taken over by a squatter who also happens to be Jamie’s [Will Estes] confidential informant. Also, Danny [Donnie Wahlberg] and Baez [Marisa Ramirez] investigate when a star student is found dead in her dormitory; Frank suspects the governor has an agenda when he comes to him with a proposal; and Erin [Bridget Moynahan] oversteps when she tries to play matchmaker for Anthony [Steve Schirripa]."
Blue Bloods Series Finale, Season 14 Episode 18, “End of Tour”
"It’s all hands on deck for the Reagan family, as they race to stop deadly mayhem in the city when the gangs of New York unite together to demand amnesty for the release of their imprisoned members and those awaiting trial."
Edward James Olmos guest stars as that gang leader, making him the final big-name guest star for the show. However, fans may be worried about the fates of other characters.
Whose funeral is on the Blue Bloods finale?
TV Insider carried photos of the finale, which included Eddie (Vanessa Ray) in a wheelchair in the hospital and Mayor Chase (Dylan Walsh) also hospitalized.
Len Cariou confirmed to TV Insider that the event in the finale is a cop’s funeral. It’s notable that Eddie’s partner Badillo (Ian Quinlan) is absent in many photos, thus leading to speculation Badillo is killed in the line of duty and the cops honoring him.
That would be a huge shock for fans to get rid of a popular supporting character. Yet it also shows the cost of being a cop, which has always been a major theme of the series. Eddie would be shaken losing a partner and one also worries her injury could jeopardize her hopes of having a child. It would also be an odd "full circle" bit for the show, which opened with Jamie graduating from the academy as a beat cop.
The finale’s title “End of Tour” could also hint at Badillo’s fate as it’s the common phrase for when a cop is killed. It also obviously pertains to the series itself closing out its remarkable 14-season run. However it falls out, it’s likely to be a wonderful celebration of what made Blue Bloods such a huge hit for CBS and honor its amazing legacy.
Blue Bloods series finale airs on Friday, Dec. 13 at 10/9c on CBS.
