The Bold and the Beautiful finally stopped making incremental progress and kicked it into gear when it comes to Carter Walton's plan to take Forrester Creations right under the nose of Co-CEOs Steffy and Ridge. Sure, he and Hope Logan keep saying their doing this together but it's only his name on the line (literally!). The coup they've plotted involves the new LLC that Carter was asked to create so that the company can stop paying so much in taxes overseas.
As he laid out to Hope, the contract dictates the structure of the LLC and signing his name on the line for the manager would give him the power to control Forrester as a whole. He was banking on Ridge and Steffy not noticing that he did that because they trust him so much. They don't check over the paperwork when he hands it to them, they simply sign where he tells them to.
We witnessed what he meant on Wednesday, Nov. 20's episode. After a conversation that basically went nowhere and that included Carter talking reckless and warning the Co-CEOs that they needed to heed his warning or...well, he never did say what exactly would happen, but we sure do. Admittedly, Steffy was out of pocket and called Hope outside her name repeatedly. Carter asked for honesty, and he got it but that certainly wasn't what he was prepared to hear.
Finally, Ridge had them all move on and that's when the moment we've been waiting for began to unfold. Carter told Ridge and Steffy where they could sign and, while Steffy finished her part of the contract, Ridge wound up losing his place and it led to a discovery that Carter didn't want. The Co-CEO landed on the very page that declares who the manager of the LLC is and saw that Carter had signed his name on the paperwork.
Taken aback, Ridge asked Carter why he put his own name on the line. Of course, that's when the episode ended so we'll be waiting until Thursday to find out whether Carter's been caught, though if you want to delve into a spoiler keep reading!
Spoilers ahead for Thursday, Nov. 21's episode of The Bold and the Beautiful
The preview for the week of Nov. 18 didn't show Carter distressed in the scene where he's asking Hope if they can really turn the company upside down and take Forrester over. That moment hasn't happened yet so somehow Carter must manage to lie sufficiently enough to seemingly dispel Ridge's suspicion of him.
In the preview, Hope says that he'll have to make a choice hinting that Carter may not be settled regarding his plan to steal FC. But what they don't know is that Hope's mother, Brooke Logan, is just outside of the cabin and can hear their conversation. She's shocked to learn what they've been plotting but it's unknown if she's going to confront Hope only to sweep it under the rug or if she's going to sound the alarm so that her love Ridge knows that his family's legacy could be about to be ripped from him.
We're barreling toward the holidays on The Bold and the Beautiful. Will it be a not so merry season for the Forresters or Carter and Hope? We can't wait to find out! Stay tuned to Hidden Remote for more coverage.
