Somehow the end of February is approaching and that means it will soon be time for the return of 911 on ABC. The second half of season 8 is set to premiere on Thursday, March 6 and fans have been eagerly anticipating the return.
To catch you up on what has happened so far, let’s see what we could expect for the characters amid their return. There's a lot to remember!

Bobby and Athena
Season 8A saw the couple, who had a rough season 7 after surviving a cruise ship only to lose their home to arson, in different stages of their careers. For a short period of time, Bobby was a technical advisor on a television show called “Hotshots” while Athena dealt with the possibility that she may need to slow down at her job, or at least get a partner even though she preferred working alone.
In the second half of the season, we don’t know too much about what will happen with the couple. However, when Angela Bassett was asked what we could expect to see, she did mention we would finally see them in an actual home. It did seem like they were going to rebuild a home on the same property where they lived before, but will they actually take another approach? We will soon find out!
There was also an Instagram post from Sean O’Bryan in which he discussed working with actor Peter Krause again! The two worked together on Six Feet Under and he will apparently be featured in the second half of the season. He also had another post mentioning playing Leslie Anne Warren’s son, so does this mean he is playing Bobby’s brother?
It looks like we may get to see Bobby’s family if this has anything to do with that particular arc. We did see flashbacks involving his parents and older brother, so this could mean we will see his brother. This is certainly a storyline fans have been waiting for since Bobby’s family has always been an enigma during the show’s run.

Hen and Karen
Hen and Karen had a rough time during the beginning of season 8. Councilwoman Ortiz, who was the mother of the young man who refused treatment after causing an accident, was trying to tear apart not only Hen’s work life, but also her home life by preventing the adoption of Mara Driskell. Howie and Maddie Han were caring for Mara until they could finally bring her home.
If that wasn’t enough, Denny was pinned by a car in an accident on Halloween right in front of both Mara and Jee-Yun Buckley Han. Are we done traumatizing the kids yet? Luckily, Karen was able to help save her son’s life in an impromptu blood transfusion until help could arrive.
Their storyline for 8B is a mystery, but all we want is to see this family happy and enjoying their time together.

Maddie and Chimney
Maddie and Chimney didn’t have much going on other than helping to raise Mara so Karen and Hen could win the fight to adopt her. Once Mara was home, the couple were definitely busy, as we found out Maddie was pregnant. This was a surprise, considering the couple hadn’t discussed it before onscreen. There is concern about how this will differ from her first pregnancy, in which she developed severe post partum.
Their storyline is going to start off rough in 8B, as it has already been teased in a promo that Maddie will be abducted by a serial killer. What will this mean for her, especially since she is likely still newly pregnant? We really hope Maddie and her baby will survive, especially for her and her family’s sake. The synopsis for episode 9, which is titled “Sob Stories,” hinted that Maddie investigates a 911 call, which will likely be what puts her in danger. We’ll have to tune in to see how this all plays out.

Buck
Buck was seemingly doing well in his personal life, despite work starting out rough when Captain Vincent Gerrard tried to take him under his wing when Buck saved his life. He had been in a relationship with Tommy Kinard (Lou Ferrigno Jr.) up until the sixth episode, when the latter broke up with him. It appeared that Buck was moving a bit fast, especially after having learned about Tommy’s past relationship with Abby Clarke, who he also dated back in season one. However, with things left unsaid, is there a chance for reconciliation or closure? With Buck still reeling from the break up (he is practically opening his own bakery to avoid calling Tommy), what does 8B have in store?
In an interview, Oliver Stark confirmed that Buck will be dealing with issues of abandonment, which makes sense considering his break-up and the reveal that his co-worker and best friend, Eddie Diaz, is planning to move.
Add in the abduction of his sister Maddie and Buck is certainly going through it. There’s a lot for him to deal with and we hope Buck can find the happiness he deserves after everything that has, and will, happen.

Eddie
It did feel like Eddie’s storyline took a backseat for the most part, especially since he has been having a rough time since his son, Christopher, went to Texas to live with his grandparents. One of the most important things Eddie had to deal with in the episode “Confessions” was to allow himself joy. We even saw that in a discussion with a priest, who we’ve seen talking to Bobby in the show’s beginning, as Eddie learned to just enjoy doing things without expectations.
Eddie ended up having a silly dance routine that gave him a chance to just be in the moment, but that doesn’t really solve everything. There was still the matter of not being there in the way he wanted for his son. So Eddie decided to begin looking at houses in El Paso, which surprised Buck when he Eddie's house after going through a baking frenzy to stop himself from calling Tommy.
Will Eddie’s move be permanent? We really have no idea what is going on, or if actor Ryan Guzman is filming. There has barely been information coming out for the second part of the season, which makes the mystery deepen as we wait to find out what to expect!
Make sure to tune into 911 when it returns to ABC Thursday, March 6 at 8/7c.
