It’s time to return to Firehouse 51 and pick up from where we left off. Chicago Fire season 13, episode 16 airs tonight, Wednesday, March 26. It’s been a long two weeks, but we’re ready for more intense calls.
The episode is set to pick up off the back of events two weeks ago. If you don’t remember the end of the episode, let me get you caught up. Firehouse 51 was called to a vehicle collision, where a woman was trapped and unconscious in her car. It turned out that the woman was Monica Pascal, and Firehouse 51 raced her to the hospital.
Chief Pascal was at a restaurant waiting for Monica to get there. When he got the call that she was at the hospital, he raced over, but it was terrible news. She died while at the hospital, and now we pick up with Pascal’s grief.
Pascal takes the loss hard in Chicago Fire season 13, episode 16
There are a few things that we can see happening in the episode based on the promo. The first thing is that Pascal returns to work. Dermot Mulroney shared with TV Insider that this makes sense for Pascal. He is a professional, and he will put work first. It’s also a way for him to avoid what has happened, but it brings up some bad memories.
Pascal wants answers and revenge. He goes after the man who was also in the vehicle accident. The question is whether the man caused it or not. Is it possible that Monica was to blame for the accident, making it even worse for Pascal as he wraps his head around the fact that he is the one with the most dangerous job and he’s still alive?
Firehouse 51 always looks out for one of their own, though. While Pascal has made it hard for others to get close to him, he has always ended up coming through for his guys and gals. So, it makes sense that they will step up when he needs it, and we’ll see Severide, Herrmann, and others question when it’s time to step in and force Pascal to get some much-needed help.
