It’s always hard when family asks something of us. We feel bound to do it, even though we know it could get us in trouble. It’s something Asher has to consider in Chicago Med season 10, episode 10.
Note: This episode will now air on Wednesday, Jan. 22. NBC is preempting all One Chicago shows this week due to Biden's exit speech.
After saving Sharon Goodwin, the hospital is getting back to normal. There are still questions over whether Archer will actually resign or not—although Goodwin has made it clear she doesn’t want him to—but the rest of the hospital is focused on the new patients coming through the doors.
Asher’s sister pays her a visit in Chicago Med season 10, episode 10
In the new episode, Asher’s sister comes with a request. She can’t get IVF paid for by her insurance company, but she desperately wants to go through with it. She has found a way around it. If Asher can diagnose her with a particular medical problem, IVF would be viewed as a necessary medical procedure. That would allow for it to be covered.
Of course, this is medical fraud, which is something Asher points out to her sister. However, it looks like she’s willing to break the law for her sister. If she goes through with it, it’s sure to open a can of worms. We’ve seen other shows where doctors have broken the law and committed insurance fraud to help patients, but is Asher willing to do the same considering the history she already has?
Meanwhile, the surgeons will need to work together when there’s a case that involves conjoined twins. It’s not clear how they are conjoined and what it means medically for the two twins just yet. Is there hope for both of the twins to survive, or is one twin supporting the life of the other? These are usually intriguing storylines, as there are various real life situations like this where parents have had to make difficult decisions when it comes to their babies.
Check out the promo and synopsis for Chicago Med season 10, episode 10:
"An army of surgeons prepares to separate conjoined twins; Asher reconnects with someone from her past; Archer treats a tyrannical boss with a heart problem."
