Chicago Med is taking a short break from new episodes (when will it return?)

There's bad news for those wanting a new episode of Chicago Med this week. The show is on a short hiatus.

We are all ready for Wednesday nights for the One Chicago lineup. There is some bad news this week, though. Chicago Med and the rest of the trio will be taking a short break.

The previous episode was packed with character development for Goodwin. She is stilling with the aftermath of her attack, and for once, the show is really focusing on what type of emotional and mental trauma that sort of attack can have.

Goodwin has been diagnosed with PTSI rather than PTSD. It means cognitive behavior therapy, which isn’t something Goodwin is happy about. She wants a quick fix rather than a referral, but that’s not how mental health works, and she should know that.

How long is Chicago Med on a break?

In some bad news, we won’t get to see how Goodwin’s story progresses right away. There isn’t going to be a new episode on Wednesday, Feb. 12. The entire One Chicago lineup is on hiatus and airing reruns throughout the night.

The break isn’t a long one, though. We will get to see a new episode on Wednesday, Feb. 19. This date was given to us in the promo for the episode.

While the break is annoying, it’s understandable due to scheduling needs. There are more weeks to fill than there are episodes available to allow for a May finale. So, that means bringing reruns here and there. It’s one of the things I dislike with early January returns compared to the waits we’ve had for the likes of CBS shows and TGIT on ABC.

What to expect in Chicago Med season 10, episode 13

At the end of the previous episode, Ripley ended up beating a guy up. To be fair, the guy did throw the first punch, but it got out of hand with the retaliation. Now that guy is in the hospital, and Ripley and Frost will need to treat him.

Of course, Ripley knows that if the man survives, he will talk. That could be Ripley’s career on the line, so is he going to save a life or let the man die? Frost won’t stand for not abiding by the Hippocratic oath, and he wants to know why Ripley has stopped treating the guy in the promo.

Chicago Med airs Wednesdays at 8/7c on NBC.
