New details have emerged regarding Jeremy Sisto's crossover appearance on CIA.
Sisto will reprise his role as Jubal Valentine for the show's November 9 episode, titled "Legacy." (h/t TV Insider) In it, a targeted explosion rocks the Upper East Side and kills an international arms dealer. The person behind the explosion is assassin Felix Vincente (Sasha Roiz), who was introduced in the season 2 premiere.
Showrunner Mike Weiss previously teased the special episode in an interview with TV Insider, revealing, "We have a really big Jubal and Nikki episode that I can’t quite talk about yet, but where he’s going to be more involved in a CIA operation than any of these other smaller little crossover moments."
Sisto also shared his excitement for the crossover, saying, "There’s a really cool episode on CIA where I go over, and I help Nikki out on a case, and it’s a really fun adventure where it’s a slightly different tone of the show. So there’s a bit more of a sense of humor that can be utilized that Jubal feels comfortable.”
In CIA's season 2 premiere, Vincente was hired to kill former members of a DEA task force who stole money from the Ortega Cartel during a drug operation. The team eventually got a former team member to confess and used him as bait to trap Vincente. But the assassin escaped by jumping into the river. Bill later learned that his dad was a CIA operative, and Vincente was his asset.
"This assassin escapes at the end of the season premiere. Is it possible that that assassin had a deep and complicated relationship with Bill’s father back when Bill was an intelligence officer? It’s possible," Weiss teased. "And so in hunting for the truth about Bill’s dad and who he was and what he did to keep Americans safe, there’s going to be no way to get to the bottom of that for Bill unless he locates and apprehends this international assassin, Felix Vincente, who is played by Sasha Roiz, who is one of our absolute favorite actors that we’ve ever worked with. We’re psyched about how the story is going to unfold.”
According to Weiss, Roiz will feature prominently in several episodes leading up to CIA's fall finale. These "really consequential episodes" will see Bill confront his dad's past until everything comes to a head in episode ten. Weiss teased, "We're going to get to the bottom of this and understand every little aspect of who Bill’s dad really was and what he did.”
CIA airs every Monday at 9/8c on CBS.
